Many especially in West have always wondered or asked many questions on magick and spell fro Africa.I will briefly speak clearly of it's nature and effectiveness.Before proceeding it's my wish for readers to understand magick or the energy or force behind magick is one....the astral light and which must be noted to be divine and really alive,..the practice of making use of this energy takes the local flavour and traditions etc.As such most times forms of magick from another region, race or continent may not fit you or be of great help .A GOOD example is the East with chants sometimes thousands of times.
While Western magick is largely astral and astrological African magick is nature based.Here most spirits are of nature and to close to earth to deliver quick changes that cab be astounding and quick.This includes the voodoo gods.
Secondly, this magick is direct and apparent.What this means if you need money you can walk into a shrine and leave with the money in cash...no waiting.However there will have been payment which sometimes could be sacrificing a loved one or animals or even your fertility or part of your body for the money or wealth.Few in the West can even believe this....money and wrath for no children or death of your mum.However it depends on spirit engaged.For love the same but payment may differ.
In most cases it also involves incisions on the body and sometimes portions and objects to swallow including beads, cowries and prepared amulets from animal parts ,herbs etc.This is mainly for protection love and such like.
Fourthly, once any working has been done most of the time it's over and can't be undone.Once you engage with a specific spirit you are forever linked...there is to detaching.if it's a love you wanted you get it and will have live with it forever.This is how strong or black it can get.There are of course temporal options for such too.
Nature plays a very deep role in African magick too.Herbs of all kinds,animal parts, animal and human sacrifices, rivers, caves,oceans and mountains including forests and bushes .Some of the medicine men are to be found in shrines within such places.Human sacrifice are common for infertility, wealth and money rituals.
Along the coastal areas there is the foreign influence which is majorly Arabic with works including written spells and use of jinn.This came to Africa through the Arabs and Muslims.
Lastly, what is interesting is that the Arabian jinn and goetia adopted here work differently.They are summoned and appear physically as in Arabic practise though without the fasting and chanting.And at a cost agreed can bring physically what is required.A good example will be Paimon or Lucifuge bringing money in a bag or trunk daily for you to take and use as you wish.For those seeking cash and money here can't understand why in the West the spirits take long and only influencing results instead of bringing things instantly.But this is not to say influence of spirits does not exist but for instant gratification you get what you want now.So a poor boy leaves to some secret place and comes back rich and wealthy.

I might have given the impression that only black magick is used.The blackest of magick does exist which no other part of the word can even imagine.You want John dead he dies in the next few minutes or by evening.You want Mary dead or to love you?!Throw a herb where she will pass...done!You want your stolen property back?The thief brings it back perhaps already mad or in excruciating pain!There is also magick that takes time and even good white magick which is used most times.Know my friend there are forms magick that people here won't dare to engage with for it can result into deaths of all lineage and family members!
I can't think of magick quick,direct and apparent as this!What comes close is Arabian,black Hindu magick,, Indonesian and the Chinese ku magick.
To call it a day, few medicine men will accept to do some of this black works. But there are those specialising in it.Much of African magick is of good variety but faster .Sometimes too a day or phase of the moon is considered....just like The West.
