I have always been fascinated by the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch (1450-1516).
His paintings are really unique , populated by strange beings and monsters.. I think he either practiced magic or was a very sensitive person, receptive to other realities. Or he perhaps had astral travels or at least had an NDE( near death experience). His painting Ascent of the Blessed from Venice is describing exactly a near death experience.. I had many years ago a NDE and I am pretty sure he had a similar experience, as well.
My guess is that all these strange beings from his paintings are not the result of his fantasy but also the fruit of his personal experiences on the astral plane.

What do you feel about that?
I attach the photo of Ascent of the Blessed.

That's a fairly tame Bosch painting . Looking at the whole range of his work one might suspect schizophrenia . . . or some form of madness . Thing is he was a product of his times ... and those times were madness . A lot of his influence came from architecture where grotesque imagery was on churches and other places in an attempt to drive away evil spirits by scaring them , the great fire in his home town , which seemed to have imprinted on his mind , some strange ideas and apparatus related to alchemy of the time and probably a few doses of ' St Anthony's Fire ' . .. nasty stuff indeed !

That’s a very nice painting. And I believe that he practiced.

perhaps there are some very sensitive people around..who can feel more when looking at his amazing paintings..
My guess is that he experienced something..at least had some dreams or astral travel at least where he met those creatures that inspired him.
