Hello everyone, may this find you in high spirits.
Are you the sort of person who understands magic and spirituality, but as a beginner, is feeling something holding you back when putting it into practice?
As a beginner myself, I have felt like this lately, It was clear there was something holding me back after I had reset my newly purchased crystals with sage, but after doing some research, it all makes a lot more sense to me now. I have come across something called the "Playful Approach", or simply the "Play" method - a method to starting your first magical practices, be it crystal programming, energy manipulation, or drawing yourself some Chaos Magic Sigils (which can be a great way to try this method out).
So, I was sitting alone in an old abandoned shed, feeling calm and had just saged 18 gems and crystals. I knew what I was doing was working, but there was a pressure in the back of my mind that felt like a disbelief that it would work. This feeling remained, and so instead of programming any crystals, I packed up and went back home. A week later, I realised why I had that uncomfortable vibe in the back of my mind. I was putting too much pressure on myself! I needed to stop looking at it so seriously. I had a sort of fear or negative feeling that if this doesn't work, then my whole belief must be a delusion, or I must be doing it wrong. After discovering this "Play" method, that weird uncomfortable feeling has now stopped.
That voice in the back of your mind telling you it won't work thrives on stress. So, bypass it completely by tapping into your childhood imagination. Remember when you were a kid playing pretend, and a simple stick instantly became a wizard's wand? Bring that exact energy to your crystal. Calm your mind, look at the stone, and adopt a 'Let's see what happens' attitude. I am going to play with one stoneand make it into a mood booster. I will make it represent my calmest and most reasonable mood. Will be in my pocket when I'm out and about, and if I'm feeling anxious, I will touch it or tap it and get those grounded vibes back.
Starting magic means we are putting ourseleves out of the mindset of what mainstream views say is not real. We know its real, but all our lives we have been told things that are not true, or that don't apply to what we know. When we start practicing, at least in my case, it feels alien to the way society has conditioned the logical brain, even if we know truely all about magic, the universe and such. If we just drop the pressure, and treat a project or ritual as our own game, just to see what happens, that can be very helpful to open the doorway as a beginner. This background doubt is referred to as "the Lust of Result", and lot's of beginners will face this. You do not need 100% blind faith or certainty of a resault, you only need 1% of playful curiousity - Just muck around and see what happens! And do not worry if nothing does happen right away! Do not give up or be disappointed, that is just calibration happening!
Thank you for reading, and I hope this formatting wasn't too aweful for a tutorial.
Best Regards,
Jay
