Today, I am going to tell you a secret, whispered by the wisest, most experienced travellers of neglected Paths. Like all real secrets it is not the revelation of a profane truth, belonging to time and space, but a rune that takes an eternity to unravel. It can be comprehended by a child and yet understanding is the realm of the master for, by understanding, the observer is transformed. As for me, not a master but an apprentice who can only live with painful honesty, I have glimpsed the secret with my inner eye but I am only beginning to see it with my lesser eyes...

At the Heart of initiation is Yearning. Souls which truly know Yearning are initiates, no matter their station in Life. Souls which do know it not are not, no matter their station in Life. The soul which knows Yearning can be driven mad by it, like a receptacle that is not strong enough to withstand an upswell of energy: "Do not pour New Wine into Old Wineskins".

Those strong enough to withstand madness through Yearning might seek refuge from its torments by resolution in divine unity. For these, Yearning is the fuel which propels their soul towards annihilation in the Garden of Allah. These are our Brothers/Sisters of the Right Hand Path and we must love, deeply love, our true siblings for they too know the heavy burden of Yearning, they too have been made outcasts and wanderers in this world by the strength of their souls. There is, though, another way...

It is not the way of resolution but of perpetual, eternal cultivation of Yearning. It is the way which, despite the thousand torments of the soul's longing, permits no comfortable "rest for the weary" but fuels an endless, re-energising fire which, through its burning, transforms the traveller. This way is not dominance in childish, human games, nor the chains of ego, but resistance against the tyranny of finality, the prison of answers. It is the choice to embrace the ache of the infinite, to make of longing a lover, of Yearning a master whose pains bring pleasure and change. It is to let the greatest desire remain unquenched, so that it sharpens the soul like a blade, a blade that cuts through illusion, to reveal the luminous truth of Becoming. There is no end to the Left Hand Path. It stretches into forever. This unanswered, Eternal Yearning is the secret of the Vampyre.

"If I take this path, will I ever know Allah?" You ask. You will not only know Allah, you will dance with Him in immortal courtship, where the tension will bring you ecstasy after ecstasy. To you will be given another secret: Indulge in your lesser desires and you will taste Allah. Pleasures expand the soul and in ecstasy we see beyond the senses which have brought us there. Kiss a handsome man: there is more truth there than in the words of the Qur'an. "But God will punish me" What is a God who lacks understanding? Jewish lies and nothing more! No, Allah Himself will kiss your feet, knowing the pain of your Yearning and the bravery of a soul that would accept the conditions of the universe without seeking escape from them.

And Allah said: 'let there be diversity, so humans can learn from each other'.

And so the camel passed tru the needle, but only after it was found in a haystack.

Allah had a discussion with the Devil about Job. We called it covid.

I cant write that beautiful, but know im waving at you both @Wintruz and @Morell.

The only two creator-cum-ruler gods I have managed to find are YHVH and Ahura Mazda, The God in Monotheistic religion of Zoroastrianism. I see I cannot start a conversation with you. Could you @8Lou1 please click the 'Start Conversation' button on my profile, I have some questions about Allah in Islam, i.e., YHVH (Allah is a generic word meaning god in Arabic)

To repurpose Goethe's words somewhat, "Nur wer der Sehnsucht kennt." (Sorry, but "Who only yearning/nostalgia knows" wussifies the suppressed vigor of the original.)

This post grabs my attention because lately I am trying to memorize "The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam." There be those in the Islamic world who take Khayyam's verses for cunningly phrased Sufi mysticism.

Yes, and at the Dionysian, Vampyric end of Sufism too. The motif, common in Sufi poetry, of wine representing truth and the wine seller as mystic amidst a world that condemns it, is particularly strong in The Rubaiyat. Pleasure as a means of the soul glimpsing Allah, inflaming greater yearning, are also hidden currents.

Among formal Sufi orders, a lot of these more ecstatic, hedonistic currents are neglected at this time, probably so as to not risk the ire of the more literally minded. I've heard of certain things passing amongst the Bektashi though, when the sun goes down and the lamps are doused...

"What time, my cup in hand, its draughts I drain,
And with rapt heart unconsciousness attain,
Behold what wondrous miracles are wrought—-
Songs flow as water from my burning brain."

Me personally, I'm a fan of the Old Man of the Mountain. But this is interesting.

I have heard that Omar K., the Old Man of the Mountain, and Saladin were all schoolmates in their youth.
