Many 'spiritual' authors are clearly against alcohol and most other drugs, citing inhibited clarity and various detriments to the astral / etheric body. It seems the less vehemently disregarded ones are those with psychoactive properties such as datura, cannabis, shrooms, etc. Tobacco is included in many rituals.
I don't think smoking cannabis every day is ideal. But it does offer a glimpse into another realm, or at least a glimpse through another lens for the duration, and a certain assimilation of the workings observed through that lens. Almost as if you smoke ritualistically, observe a few things otherwise kept beyond the veil, and then carry those things back to sober life to work with them and incorporate them.
Perhaps it is useful when used in this manner ?
