Thoughts on Taweez? And any clue on how to make them?

Taweez is a Qur'anic amulet, their are multiple different versions of them for different stuff you may want, with one example being protection from Sihr (black magic), and another being wealth, and another might be for academic success. There are more versions but you get the gist. I have little to no clue how to make them, and the English translation of shams al ma'arif isn't that great for this because the original manuscripts didn't include a lot of the pictures necessary that we could use as an example. I'm trying to start of slow, and easy,

I found this book ILM E TALISMAT, which I have just started reading. But the issue is, I don't have a spiritual license, and from what I seem to understand, you need a teacher to get one. You can try yourself, but that seems to be more dangerous.

It is a charm.
You can make it with paper, but you would need to be in a spiritual mindset as you manufacture your charm.
Write the text you wish to on paper. Write in a nice, clear script as you apply the ink to the charm.
Once complete, seal the paper/parchment. Honestly, from experience, Modge Podge works best for sealing- just apply light coats, let dry then apply again, about three times for paper- and apply on both sides.
Utilize the means you wish to carry the charm, whether on a necklace, in your pocket- inside a case you bought or made. Tawiz are made in many forms.
If you decide for a necklace/pendant, decorate the cord with precious beads, stone or bone. If you decide for a pocket charm, you could sew a bag around it, or pin it to a bi-fold- maybe even in a small case, just apply it to whatever you can think of. It is all up to you.

Everything is all about intention. Whatever you intend to use this for, you make what you will, by your will.
I have never manufactured Tawiz. However, I can name a dozen culturally related charms that are exactly like Tawiz- from Hoodoo to Tao, Eastern Orthodox Christianity to Kemetism- all utilize charms in a close type fashion.

From my observations, they (the taweez) looks a lot like a shinto omamori and a hoodoo mojo bag. They are composed by writings blessed then inserted inside some bag-ish. But in the end, as @Sabbatius said, it's a charm. Do it with intention that it will works.

No experiences with accidentally attracting djinn using taweez? I'm assuming many of theses instances were from either unconscious malformed intent/doubt when creating the charm

Taweez are super powerful, and you don't always need a formal "spiritual license" if your intent is completely clear and pure. At the end of the day, it's a sacred charm.
If you want to make a simple but effective one yourself, here is a practical way to do it: The Mindset and Ink: First, you need to get into a deep, meditative state. Clean your space. If you can, use a natural ink like saffron mixed with rosewater—this is traditionally used in Middle Eastern magic because it holds spiritual vibrations really well.
Writing the Script: Write down your chosen Qur'anic verses or protective squares (Abjad numbers) on a small piece of clean paper or parchment. Write it very slow and focus all your energy into every letter.
Folding and Sealing: Once the ink is dry, fold the paper into a small, tight triangle or square. To protect it from sweat and dirt, you should seal it. A great modern trick is using a few layers of Mod Podge or candle wax to make it waterproof.
The Pouch: Put the folded paper inside a small pouch. Leather is amazing for this, but a heavy cloth works too. You can wear it as a necklace or keep it in your pocket.
Consecration: Don't just put it on. Sit in meditation with the finished Taweez in your hands and pray or recite the verses over it multiple times to "wake it up".
As long as you don't have doubts or messy thoughts while making it, you don't have to worry about attracting bad entities like Djinn. Everything is about your focus and will.
