Hey folks,

Long time lurker here, been looking around to meet folks in real life and found out we got a Traditional Martinist Order Lodge in the next city over. Are their teaching worth studying? Are you a Martinist? You liking it, or did you leave and got the scoop? It is a 3 hour drive to see them so I want to learn what they are all about before joining anything.

I am going off to sleep but will reply with more later; Martinism is sort of a highly esoteric form of christianity. I have a book from friends at Czech Hermetics that published some translations of Martinist texts. It’s all very fascinating. I’ll get back with more soon.

It's definitely an order with a lot of depth and a very specific, mystical Christian lineage. If you’re considering the drive, I’d suggest looking into their focus on 'The Heart' it's quite different from more mental or heavy-ritual based systems. It really depends on what you're looking to get out of your path. Are you leaning more towards the formal structure of an Order, or are you just curious about the philosophy itself?
