Seriously. The number of times I purchased items made in China and they failed within weeks. When you open them up, you find flimsy wires, dodgy solder joints, flimsy springs and "toy motors".
I say this because I've been trying to find a decent DVD player, solid and reliable.
Where we get tripped up in that former high-bracket brand names have been out-sourcing to China, so consumers are unaware. Frankly it's annoying. I visited a store today that apparently now offers a mere 30 days warrantee (and I find the once British manufacturer is now a China production line). It's clear why that 30 day guarantee is no longer the former year's protection.
I know some good players do exist but can also be expensive. I figure my best option is to visit charity shops.
In many ways, the old Japanese VHS video players were at least reliable.
