Can't resist asking, honestly. Only lately I learned that it was written by a Mormon and that it is described as Fan-Fiction on Mormon faith with Vamps being a version of their afterlife. (along with more stuff that was... disappointing to me)

I neve was interested in this romance, somehow it didn't feel attractive, not to mention sparkling vamps. Lol! So not even lore was worth it. Although I did enjoy the parody named Vampires Suck. That was good movie...

So no, don't like Twilight and as vamp enthusiast couldn't resist noting it. What about you?

As far as im concerned those things that locked like they smacked with a white glitter stick is insulting to Mother Lilith. I'll take Akasha and Lestat over those walking sparklers any day.

I have barely encountered it beyond catching a few minutes of one of the films when I visited a friend whose kids were watching it. I'm still no clearer on why a hundred year old vampire is attending a high school in WA.

I wouldn't want to belittle the taste of others, especially when it might have been a gateway for them (we all have surprising things that are meaningful to us) but I see no distinct hook in Twilight. There's nothing whatsoever of folkloric or magical value in there (interesting though that it gave rise to 50 Shades of Grey and turned a lot of women onto BDSM) but, even as pure entertainment, Twilight feels... bloodless.

it's slop meant to be consumed on a mass scale it has no meaning beyond pointless Entertaiment

I have not read them or seen the films. From what I can gather from my daughter who has read the books, it's intended to introduce teenagers to the idea of forever relationships and dealing with the temptation to seek other people even when the relationship goes cold. Showing them the looming real possibility of parenthood as the gateway to adulthood. It's informing women about dealing with moody men. The vampire thing is just a hook, the real story is basically Wuthering Heights.

you can learn that from life miss, men like that have existed for a long time even before the creation of slop like movies and shows and novels, and women have been dealing with guys like that since like forever, life is a better teacher, life is beautiful and people don't need slop to fill time
