This might be a silly post:
While I believe that much thought has blazed over the notion of HGA and K&C (Higher Guardian Angel and Knowledge & Communication), I don't see the issue of combining both Deity Yoga (to a certain degree) and HGA (Higher Guardian Angel) practices. There is the idea of emptiness and using that concept to first build up the idea of an entity, whether it be any entity; God/Goddess, or demon in our practices. Using this concept, we build up belief (if that's been a struggle - this is where deprogramming ourselves from traditional religious beliefs are necessary), we visualize heavily from 'emptiness' of not even being able to conceive the notion of any entity in our world into a formed one. The core concept of Deity Yoga is going from emptiness to visualizing a deity in our mind into something we perceive as real. And then using that to understand how we all are emptiness in a type of concept that I will not divulge further in because it isn't relevant, nor workable in this setting. And even though I disagree with any idea that we as human are not divine in some way, I don't agree with throwing the very idea of Deity Yoga away completely. There is value here for someone trying to get from stage zero to stage one. Essentially, we would be mixing things up a bit to inevitably achieve the first stages of reaching our HGA, and Knowledge & Conversation with our Holy Guardian.
I believe going from empty-minded meditative practices (something most of us will have already undertaken) and then applying it to give form and life to the very essence we find enthralling (like a Patron deity), we can use this concept to thrust ourselves forward a little bit from the beginning stages, where there might be some difficulty. Later, we can work on getting from stage one to two.
It means we may not even need syzygy in order to complete this portion of ritual (although it can make things easier, absolutely).
Yet, when it comes to absolute dissolution at the stand of The Abyss, a different form of emptiness is needed, and that is dissolution of ego. Deity Yoga can help us cross The Abyss, and pass Choronzon through K&C by proportionally using elements of Deity Yoga and speaking with our HGA. It goes from incorporating Tantric experiences to incorporating something entirely different all at once. Mixing both together can be strange, but rewarding. It's a matter of casting out what does not ultimately serve the purpose of reaching our HGA and K&C. I'm interested in your opinions, because this might be an entirely wrong way of going about things.
