Weird experiences with mirrors

Has anyone else always felt pretty weird around mirrors? I don't really like mirrors, I feel like there's a negative energy around them in general, I've heard that entities can be in mirrors, but I don't think that's it since I've felt weird around all mirrors, not just specific ones. The worst is when I'm in a bad phase in life, mirrors always seem make it worse, appearing even more negative to me. Also when I'm in total darkness with a mirror, not just when it's a bit dark, I mean when I can't see anything at all. Which is weird because I usually quite like total darkness. All of this doesn't happen with windows or other reflective surfaces, only mirrors.
Do y'all have a similiar feeling? I'd like to know if you have anything that can help on the topic of mirrors, most mirror related things I find are about sending back energies, which I have a feeling isn't what I need.

It might not be them, it might be you. Not saying that in a bad way, but it might be just the way you experience them. I don't like children either, so I can relate, though never felt that negative around them. If so then I feel negativity from every human. But that's me being that anomaly, not them.

Don't know why you sense them this way, but you do. that's probably all there is to it.

I never felt like that and even use mirrors in my own magic and tried to work with as much different mirrors as possible over a period of 7 years. (I talked about this in the topic "Practicing privatly or in secret" and shared a method over there) I am with Morell, I suspect also that it is something in you. Spirits can get trapped in mirrors, but that is not the case in all mirrors like you described. Over years I hardly encountered mirrors where that was the case. If I would make it statistical, perhaps 2 or 3 out of 100 was a spirit trap. Have not my diaries here with me now, but I tend to count such things. Mirrors can however, show not only the physical you back, they can mirror the spiritual and unconscious part of you also. I suspect that is happening to you. I am not so in divination, but maybe you can try to gather information about the spiritual unconscious parts of you and decide if it is something what needs your attention or not. For that, you have to ask for advice from others. I am not a specialist in that.

If you want use a mirror for magic, it is important to not look IN the mirror, you need to learn to look THROUGH the mirror. Those who look in the mirror only find their own person reflecting back, those who look through will find the complete universe(s)...... But if it bothers you in bad periods, you can try to learn yourself the closing part of the method in the topic I mentioned above. (I am on my smartphone now, copy/paste things from the one topic to the other works not so convenient, sorry)

In my personal practice, mirrors are portals, either to other worlds or to parts of myself. Have you consulted an oracle like the tarot or runes to learn more about what it might mean? It could help.

I don't want to imply anything, but as far as I know mirrors and mirroring surfaces are often perceived as threatening by people during or after psychosis related issues, also schizophrenia. I knew two people in my life pretty well and both told me this, one in addition told me that sharp edges of objects were very unconformable to look at as they messed with overall perception/ felt like almost physical pain.

It also can be attributed to a heightened awareness or slightly enhanced or altered state that is a very intense state to navigate in.

That being said, psychosis and or related states are what made and makes the shaman in tribal culture, meaning they approached this forceful thinning of the veil as a gift to commune with the other realms - even with the stereotype shamans and medicine women and men there always is a 'trade off' with this skill - being less functional in the mundane.

Maybe you have some kind of psychic tendencies? When you implied a bad phase it made me think of the aforementioned. I would suggest looking into things that increase or decrease the odds of slipping into psychosis like states & find alternative coping mechanisms if you find that you are engaging in any things that increase these odds.

Maybe I should, but I don't think there are many close to where I live.

Well that's concerning, that being said I don't think I'm psychotic nor schizophrenic, but people in my family were always pretty close with that "thinning the veil" thing, a lot of them talk about weird experiences with the occult, despite none of them (as far as I know) practicing, so it might be some psychic tendencies that run in the family.

I'll try looking into these psychosis states you talk about, Thanks!

I'm not sure what good resources are available there. I might add that both of these psychosis incidents had to do with drug induced psychosis and afterwards, i guess during they had bigger concerns, they had this 'post traumatic state' in which they had similar feelings towards mirroring objects like for instance parked cars etc, and mirrors. I guess it has to do with the common theme that people suffering from these rapid changes of perception have maybe bad memories attached to maybe distorted mirror reflections of themselves, and/or distorted faces they have seen in their mind and so on. Maybe a subreddit on psychosis type things would be a good place to ask about this.

Still that does not have to be the case for you. Still would be good to know for yourself if you maybe have some habits that increase this feeling or state. For me I had that with cannabis, you know the common paranoia when sitting in a stuffed train and being unable to avoid the look of people because the windows mirror at night etc.

Maybe also try some banishing rituals and maybe some other ones related to feeling firm and powerful?

Sometimes also blood types play into that, at least a type 0 negative woman I knew told me of many paranormal things happening to her on regular basis. More of a 'gatekept science' i would add.

Well I did try cannabis once but the mirror things started before, so it can't be that.
I didn't know the blood types could have effects like that, might try researching this.
Anyways, thanks for the answers, i'll try and look into those things.

The blood types thing mostly leads into conspiracy stuff, I think there could be something to it that certain ones have some affinity for psychic abilities. It's more of a read between the lines topic that is open ended, as there is no real research done about it.

Sure, hope it helps.
