What do you do after the LBRP ?

I just read this in an account about the LBRP after the ritual had been descrobed in detail: "

At this point, the invocation is effectively complete. You have finished setting up the conditions for a response from the astral light; now you must give that response a chance to occur. This is an utterly vital part of any invocation you will ever do; you may get some response while performing the ritual, but the most important, the most vital, revealing, and consciousness-expanding part of the response nearly always takes place in the quiet time after the active work has ended.

Do you do this? what is the thinking behind it? I havent seen this in other accounts of the LBRP... but maybe I just didnt read (or remember) these parts?

It's all using your imagination to evoke god names, cast a circle of protection and call upon the archangels.. Whether its the LBRP or LRP (which is the original ritual.. the banishing one was added later because people are idiots and felt they needed to draw other types of pentagrams to banish.. when in reality, these rituals are not effective in banishing powerful spirits but may still protect the magician from harm.

But to answer your question.. It can be used in the beginning of any magickal works and after .. ideally first you want to do the LRP and then the LBRP after.. but its all silly western magick nonsense.. flawed system, goofy shit. Good for beginners though to get them to understand the proper headspace and processes that go into real ritual work.

Why it is beautiful when you are learning -- It helps clear your consciousness a bit because effectively you are concentrating quite a bit on multiple things and utilizing different faculties such as imagination, visualization, many different senses, etc.
Utilizing these things helps the brain get into the right frequency for works and helps you get out the stagnant energy of the day.

Whether one interprets that in terms of “astral light,” unconscious material, altered states of attention, or something else, there is still a meaningful difference between deliberately producing images and then becoming quiet enough to observe what arises without deliberately producing it.

So for me the interesting question isn't simply whether imagination is involved, of course it is, but whether ritual imagination is being used only to manufacture a state of mind, or to establish conditions in which something not entirely under the magician's conscious control can emerge.

And Crowley himself explicitly cautioned against reducing the Pentagram Ritual to merely invoking or banishing spirits; he regarded its significance as considerably broader than that.

Well said, but what also bothers me about the LBRP is.. most people who do the LBRP-- are doing it haphazardly.. I see them performing it as if they are in a spelling bee spelling out a word.. rather than really getting into it..

ie: The proper way it should be done is first the practicioner must ground himself /tether themselves to the Earth.. then imagine their light body expanding past their physical room/building, extending over their town, their city, state, country and up past the earth itself, into outer space and the outer most regions of the galaxy/universe coming into the high heavens where they then bring down the light... then entoning the words and visualizing the orbs of light intensely and not only going through them but past them to the other ends of the world.. Even in visualizing the arch angels and their elements, feeling the elemental energies associated with them, etc..

The tethering/grounding to the Earth by going deep into the ground/soil with a cord of energy/light is very important.. otherwise the person is floating in the astral with no grounding, which can make them vulnerable/light them up to astral influences, mostly parasitic buggers.

The idea that each time you are doing an LBRP you are banishing "earth" is not healthy nor helpful.. as Earth is the element of the material.. and I have had people tell me that they saw issues in their life from performing the LBRP too much.. in their finances, etc.. Whether their issues/losses wer etruly associated with their practice of the LBRP we will never know, but its interesting to think about.

Regardless, I think that people should stick to the LRP as it always was.. and not have ot use both the invoking and banishing rituals.. just keep it as it was meant to be because it was never broken. If they really want to banish spirits, there are better rituals and methods anyways.
