What do you think about influence of gnosticism among internet youths

I didn't know where to post so I chose this one.

There's a rising group of "spiritually awakened" people or "schizos" as they call themselves that I found recently, many of which are young adult males. I see a lot of them talk about a prison planet, NPCs, hylics, the interplay between schizos, psychos, normies - this is definitely influenced by gnosticism.

They raise interesting points about the interplay about these three groups of people, and i feel like I'm stuck in the middle. The people who follow these seem to harbor a superiority complex above the average "normie" due to being "schizo" or "awakened" and seeing the patterns. There seems to be a varying degree of dehumanisation of the people in the other groups.

I personally don't know what to think of them, since what puts me off is the superiority complex, and from what I understand, a true magician is humble, but the things they point out about society do make sense.

I'm really curious about the ideas of others here that have a lot more experience about things like these.

I agree. But, just how big is this movement? Gnosticism might be just the reaction against Xian established culture, rebellion?

I must say that my YT feed is full of such Gnostic stuff, as I was looking into Sophia. With the Algorithm, can one even know if it's growing?

I'm still undecided myself, as with many things that don't have a central authority to consult, I just can't decide if to take it serious or not.

I have not seen the groups you mention myself, but I'm not on social media much. If it puffs up egos then that's not good, but maybe

just a vocal minority.

I think people of all age groups are looking for an abstract reason for why things seem so messy and wrong. Believing in a "Demiurge" is a good scapegoat for such issues. It might be as simple as that, especially on low-effort social media sites like TikTok, one not known for any sort of scholasticism or depth of thought with many of the spiritual trends shared on the platform.

Then perhaps it's me. It's not gnosticism per se' but more of a "movement" that I've just come across which is probably influenced by it. Terms like "loosh farming" and "nooticing" are common. I see these people on /x/ but didn't expect to find them outside of 4chan. Belief in a soul trap and prison planet are very common. Mistrust in the world's governments and elites is also a trademark. I'd like to find a way to label this stuff, but I'm not sure.

If you want to see crazy stuff people are trying for real, explore reality shifting. Toxic elitism there too.

ha! seems like there's a lot of crazy stuff on the social media that I wasn't aware of. I guess I may have stumbled upon yet another current that mixes conspiracism, gnostic ideas and politics.

My other question is, what do you do with the idea that there are people at the top that control others by scrapping their morals/ethics, people at the bottom who are unaware and people that try going against the people at the top but end up being isolated and erased by the people at the bottom? this is a thing these people talk about often. i mean, is there anything one can do about it?

this is really what i find confusing. im trying to understand where I would stand. they have a point, but i feel like theres something wrong about self-victimisation and creating stories about themselves. sorry if im confusing you too

Myth is to be ritualized. If you're not doing that , you're a tourist.
I had to think of this website becsuse of your mention:

"On Mythic Rituals and Ceremonial Activities

These rituals were understood as structuring agents of the universal cosmological order, that functioned to bring the human microcosmic order on earth below into accord with the celestial macrocosmic order above. “So mote it be." ... “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

— The mythic rituals served as a virtual mesocosm — a mediating, middle cosmos through which the social microcosm of the human group was meant to be brought back into its proper relation to the macrocosm of the astronomical all. And this was done by mirroring, as nearly perfectly as possible, the regular order (as well as the occasional disorder) of the "wandering stars” — the planets."

I think that having knowledge of more trends on social networks today would be damn unhealthy. I would even say dangerous for one's sanity.
