This is a question for @SkullTraill. I appologize if im writting in the wrong section my question. I noticed you replied to someones thread that was full of gibberish. You said that there is no LARPing allowed. I tried to get a understanding of what that means, but i find mixed definitions of that online. What do you mean by LARPing in the context you follow for that?

The posters above me have shed some light into it, but here is what I define as LARPing:
  1. Either someone who claims to be practicing the occult at a level they are not, sort of like saying they can spawn fireballs, they performed a ritual that affected the US election, or something like that. Something clearly fantastical by way of being unrealistic.
  2. Or someone who views the occult in purely fantastical, fictitious way, like for example saying they are a student of a magickal school where witches and werewolves attend, and it’s smack dab in the middle of London but no one knows about it cause it’s veiled from the public just like hogwarts is.
The difference between the two being that in the first case, they truly...

In occult circles, it is when one pretends to be someone other than themselves. Usually in this pack you will find many people claiming to be reincarnation of certain historic people/deities, or they claim to be capable of outrageous feats that is either unlikely to ever happen or straight up not possible whatsoever.

This kind of crowd either are deluded to the point there is nothing we can do to help, or they are non-believers that are mocking, or lastly they just lust after those sweet internet points.

LARP = Live Action Role Playing. Usually applied to supernatural accounts and claims that either closely follow established occult narratives or are made up of whole cloth. Claimed experiences by wannabe adepts that sound like they are taken from fantasy novels or games, hence the name. Grandstanding and a predilection for cheesy social media drama is another symptom.

The difference between the two being that in the first case, they truly believe in the delusion, in the second case they are not delusional but they get off on the fantasy/fiction - they use WF as a creative writing outlet, are not serious about the occult and view it as a fun head canon.

I categorize both of these types as LARPing, and it’s not allowed on WF except in the lounge/arts section clearly marked as fiction.
