My brother tells me my great-niece (his granddaughter ) ( about 7 yo) is just like me ; '' She goes to scripture , she doesnt want to be Christian but her Christian school friends go, so she goes with them . She asked the teacher a question ; ' If God made the starts by saying let there be stars , and fish by saying let there be fish and man by saying let there be Man ... why di he have to take a rib from man to make a woman? Why couldnt he just say 'Let there be woman ' and there was one ?' ''

Answer ? Teacher; '' That is just the way God did it , we know becasue that is what the Bible says .''

Little niece ; '' Yes, but if ..... ''

Teacher; '' That is what the BIble says ! ''

... Children are wonderful, and it's a vital detail for the plot. Eve was built after Adam.

In brief:
  1. Adam is "formed" - Gen 2:7
  2. Adam is placed in the garden - Gen 2:15
  3. God commands Adam - Gen 2:16-17
  4. The beasts are "formed" - Gen 2:19
  5. Eve is "built" - Gen 2:22
  6. Adam and Eve consummate their marriage
  7. Then, probably while Adam is napping, the most naked beast of the field asks...
" ... Hassssss God ssssaid, ~you~ shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"

3:1

... the serpent was more [naked] than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, Has God said, you shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

what is your interpretation of what the BIBLE is?

It's a platform for discussing BIG topics.

For example, in my faith community we often discuss the weekly Torah portion through a kabalistic lens. This week, in the annual cycle, we're at the part in the story where the tabernacle is constructed. In the lecture below, the Rabbi uses the discussion and the description of it as a platform for discussing the Four-Worlds model and the relationship between primordial energetic principles.
