To me, LHP means that I see myself as the highest in the universe and there is no one above me as far as divinity is concerned.
Of course, this does not mean that I do not believe in the paranormal and the afterlife and other entities from other dimensions. I am a very spiritual person after which some do not believe in the afterlife, ghosts, etc. like LHP practitioners.

Aside from curious and novel Vama Marga associations which I study with an increasingly addictive (albeit "liberating", perhaps in the sense of Kaula, emphasising lilia) devotion, I have come to view the Left Hand Path, occulturally speaking, as primarily a means of self-identification with that which is "against".

At the core of adversarial practices is the accentuation of the psyche by casting it against the programs installed by society. By participating in a Black Mass or similar manifestation of Satanism, I affirm that I exist as an individual being, I go "against the grain" of socialisation. Although working through all of this deprogramming can take a while, these are only the very, very early stages of the Left Hand Path. A lot of people seem to get stuck at this level, perhaps because there's pleasure and excitement in LHP deprogramming (though this lessens with time) or perhaps because they like the idea of being a Satanist as a social role (though this really is more about LARPing within the confines of socialisation than any kind of initiation). Perhaps it's as far as they can go: I have seen, with my own eyes, forces halt dabblers from going any further, trapping them in endless chasing their own tails. The Left Hand Path has a very Darwinian aspect: it will destroy or distract those that it can and this is a good thing. It means only those with real character and insight will make it through.

The outer expressions have changed recently too. In a culture where, increasingly, being a devout follower of a religion is perceived by the masses as strange or "problematic", new means of accentuating the psyche have had to emerge (this is one reason why some LHP groups promote Neo-Nazism as part of their curriculum). Unless a person really has been shaped in a cut-off, fundamentalist backwater, trampling on a crucifix is not going to cut it: scenes like that are now grist of the mill for schlocky horror films. On the other hand, declaring "people are not equal" or "reason is a measure of hubris, not reality" or "the Holocaust was justified", these are ideas which carry real danger in the present zeitgeist. They can get a person arrested/institutionalised and they're far more likely to violate one's programming in 2024 than an inversion of Catholic rites. In a certain sense, a devout Catholic is acting more in accordance with the initial steps of the LHP in this culture than an overgrown goth invoking the "daRk lORd sATIn" at ComicCon.

For me, the true Left Hand Path begins after this initial accentuation: "OK, I am deprogrammed, I am no longer an automaton... so now what?" The journey of uncovering and expanding the psyche, aligning it with the Essence is the Left Hand Path. It's less socially dangerous in later stages and much more internally dangerous. One is continually resetting the boundaries of one's own psyche. This is done by relying on one's own instincts. There are no handbooks, no "communities". If you're very lucky, you'll have found someone further down the road to advise and exchange some energies, but they can't do the work for you. Only your most authentic, deepest desires (purged and transformed through a thousand passings through the fire) are the fuel, only your mind at its most alert and intense is the vehicle, only the highest aspirations of your Wyrd are the destination. I do not recognise anything else as the Left Hand Path.

This is quite literally some of the best insight I have gotten on this site so far.

I believe the Left Hand is simply the opposite of the Right: rather than conforming and drawing strength from the whole, you seperate yourself and refine strength from within. People can be sloppy and delusional, so occasionally a person will practice one hand in their minds, while actually living the path of the opposite. The wearing of any ideology, such as "I am a Satanist" takes away from your individuality and makes you part of a group, confining you to the probability-box of what a Satanist ought to do, taking a lot of the meaningful wind out of the "going against society" jive, because being a Satanist - going against the grain - is what's socially expected; it's just taking on the classic role of the adversary, rather than realizing your potential as a self-sustained system to be entirely unique and one-of-a-kind.

Each of us was born wearing a series of masks: your name, race, age, religion, political alligning, class, you act according to the role you've been playing for as long as you can remember, and many people die having loyally serving their roles. To individualize along the LHP is to remove the masks, to judge them yourself regardless of how others do, and to create a new one for yourself. To refuse to be categorized and defined is the most offensive and rebellious thing an individual could do, in my opinion.

You are a self sustained system, you could sync yourself to a larger system of systems, or improve your own. From what I've read, Left Hand Path ideology has a few constants: refinement, growth, becoming, and immortality. You cut your own Path through the forest and bow to no one, depending only on your own judgement and ability to adapt. Whether you want to be respectful or not is up to you, but it does not define you like it does many Satanists/antinomianists.

I look up into space with awe and envy, there are so many miracles scattered across space, each star burns with their own radiance in a frigid black vacuum, separated from one another by vast chasms of void; this reminds me of how proper LHP Initiates interract with one another here on Earth, as unique and radiant stars.

To me, while RHP is system, LHP is individuality. A self-liberation.

I think that it doesn't matter if you serve yourself or others, if you do it right, you do both at once.

However it is self-definition, that comes with LHP. Instead of changing yourself to adapt only to the needs of others you seek to change yourself to fit your own idea of yourself and to fit your own needs, personal as well as in the system. It is kind of standing aside, but it is also standing in the system, but on your own will, able to leave or change place if needed or desired.

In my opinion it doesn't deny worship of the gods, but it redefines it. It is not a service and living up to expectations, but act of love and companionship.

My point being, trading one God to other doesn't seem like in the essence of Left-Hand Path, where individual is put above all.

All the more power to you if they are helping you of course, but JCI=right hand and Demons=left hand isn't a good categorisation, imo.

what if lhp is just youre evil cause you use your left hand more. i have many friends who were abused at school by teachers to write with their right hand. left hand tied up on a montessori school. witchcraft from the berhatiah to 'heal' you and make you right handed, being hit severely cause only the devil uses his left hand, in islamic culture your right hand is to wipe your ass not to eat food with so being hit at home for being a dirty kid, etc. it really does something to the mind. lefties are a minority and even if it isnt the def of occult leftism it sure as hell was seen like that when i was a kid, so why not accept their label and laugh my ass off. again a very lhp act. the reply to that is most of the time: ow thats a bunch of nonsense you have a too big of imagination, again a very lhp tool.

so my def of it became, thats being me, myself and i and now they call me a vampire, which is inherently rhp. so i think that when you can think a little better for yourself then the crowd you are automatically called lhp.

Perhaps you should read the wonderful and well thought out posts made by the other users on this very thread. You'll find clarity on the Left Hand Path written by many above.
ok ok \(^o^)/

It's very different. According to LHP philosophy, if you haven't begun the path to sovereignty, you aren't you, you - at the onset - are unconscious, unenlightened, asleep, and in a daze. You were born and have been tumbling around the world of karma, forming habits and opinions in the darkness of ignorance. You are as helpless as an AI to it's programming and environment.

Individuality is not a list of likes and dislikes, it isn't the sense of "I am", individuality is the ability to harness and maintain Will, the clarity of undefined pure consciousness, and the preparation / overcoming of death. Initiation is done through progressive degrees of death and rebirth. The "you" you are talking about would die entirely, because it is a veil masking the true self behind your putrid ego.

I also find your love of demons to be childish and infantilizing. When I think of those who bind themselves to demonic influence, I see rapists, serial killers, pedophiles, and thieves.
