What made you believe in the existence of magic?

I started with tarot learning about its system and correspondences. Later much later I began energy work which convinced me of its reality then I took a long break but came back only recently
I also had a tarot deck that was stolen from me I accepted the loss then the very same tarot came back to me I got it back only to have it recently stolen again . I guess that deck wasnt meant for me. Now I’m back to the beginning with the raider white smith deck and keep it locked up and safe

I am energy sensitive. I've observed subtle energies operating in my body/being physically, and thus I came to the conclusion there's more to this world than just the material and thus magick can work.

Later on I became a bit of a psychonaut in the psychonalytical vein - a lot of magick is also concerned with that.

I started with studying paranormal powers from a scientific point of view (telepathy, clairvoyance, etc.) and eventually discovered that they are all subsets of magic.

I didn't need to 'believe' it as such; I was studying it.

Always believe in it since my mom always raised me to believe in the paranormal. And I also did my own research into the paranormal as well. It eventually lead me to have an emphasis on the Occult and became a believer in magic from all the reading and research and the like that I did on the subject. So been a believer since 2007 on if I remember correctly.

I was really into studying rural cultural beliefs as a kid and then that kind of progressed into being a teenager who was really into nature and eventually the occult. Now as an adult I practice more and the results I see continue to confirm my beliefs. to be fair, my family practiced southern witchcraft and I always found it to be really cool.

by first getting a proper haunting: moving bed, banging noises, lights pulsating, things in the house moving. that was first validation - but it opened up pandora's box of looking into other things.

It Starts with Dreams... There are certain Herbs that make Dreams even more memorable. Then when you realize it is a new kind of Work, like training an invisible muscle, you will realize that Magic is real without a doubt. That's when the fun begins.

I think I always believed in it, but the proof for me was always fast results. Not everything I do works smoothly, but much more than 50% of the time, I get positive and very timely results for things that can't be attributed to coincidence (which is often the case I think for when someone does a ritual and then six months later they get what they want). For me, the result needs to be within a week or two at the most before I attributed it to magic.

I started questioning things as a kid when things I wanted somehow manifested out of nowhere. I remember thinking of a cash note and soon finding it somewhere. Then other things started coming. Kids can have weird goals... I desired cigarettes, found them, wanted something specific and then it came somehow to me. I always called it manifesting, couldn't understand how it worked but I knew it had something to do with extreme focus and desires. I recognized it as some kind of magic.

This all got boosted by my impulsive overly aggressive emotions. I was always either very angry or overly happy. Main emotion being extreme anger caused by hating the school system and some other reasons. I hated every single thing about the school system, until the very end. Also physical pain and some people made me furious.

Bigger turning point came after I noticed one can get into interesting states through meditations. Motivation increased by a thousand %. Things started making sense even more.

I had a lot of very disturbing paranormal experiences when I was a kid. I've seen magickal things with my own eyes. Some of those experiences where horrifying. I talked about them on a forum and received a dm from an anti cosmic Satanist. He talked to me about magick, MLO cosmology, psychic abilities and the black flame. I met another Satanist soon after. He was into Joy of Satan and gave me some links from their website. I've basically been studying and practicing witchcraft since then.
