What type of magick have you had the most success with?

Daemonic and Angelic Goetia. Chaos magick. Pentacles of Solomon. Energy manipulation.

But that's mostly because those are the types of magick I practice the most and know a thing or two about, I guess.

Planetary magic. Charging the talisman with words of power and imagining the planetary energy being absorbed by it increases its potency.

A form of chaos magick, based on my own research. Having a consistent picture of how magic works has been the backbone of my practical work.

This is a great question to pose to everyone.

I never really thought of magick as a 'most success' type of activity but the most used and most common forms of magic that I practice and have some relative success with is the quick easy magic. A short spell, light a candle, old school spells - stuff that can be done fast and easy with minimal preparation and over commitment. Its like the opposite of ceremonial magick :)

For mundane things, candle magic, folk charms and blessings, usually based around specific times, like corresponding moon phases, planetary hours, and days of the week. For more serious or spiritual matters, I do ceremonial magic.

Planetary talismans require a lot of research for good charts, but if you get a nice election to consacrate them they are tiny powerhouses.

I also like sigils, my home is covered in them, and drawing them in white chalk over white plaster makes it easy to camouflage them.

Offerings to specific ancestors works really good for specific projects, one of my grandaunts was a seamstress, and if I make offerings to her before sewing, all clothes repairs come out just a little bit neater.

I think my most successful act of magick came from pop culture magick/chaos magick: hypersigil.

After a messy 2024 year, i decided to banish the all year on Dec 31, 2024 by "burning the year". On Jan 1 2025, i wrote the hypersigil as a letter dated on Dec 31 2025, explaining how amazing 2025 was to me. I wrote about having a job i like, good friend, out of depression and no more money concerns.

I added some solar elements and i sealed the letter. Keeping it in my desk.

I opened the letter at the end of the last year and i was shocked about everything was accomplished so far.

The letter was half hidden in my desk so i often saw it through the year, i guess it acted as a reminder of all those intents.

What form of chaos magic did you use? what version of 'how magic works' worked for you?

I see chaos magic more as a number of principles rather than a system as such. Now you come to ask me, I realise that I have not actually written anything down about them, so you may have to wait for that one while I sort it out :)

Second, I've spent thirty plus years investigating how magic and science can actually exist together, and I have, to my own satisfaction at least, come up with an explanation of how (or indeed why) magic works that proceeds forth from a deep understanding of our most successful scientific theories and how they fit together. For the purposes of this, I have a simplified definition of magic as 'the engineering of coincidence' or 'being lucky on purpose'.

I can't explain absolutely everything ("What are ghosts? We just don't know") but it provides me with a solid base for chaos magic style workings.

I like the way Feyerabend has a picture of a horrorscope in the background when he was pictured for the sleeve of 'against method'... Im guessing you are going down that kind of route when you talk about a reconcilliation of some kind...? he is marmite though so I may need to duck at this point.

I mainly use strong meditations, strong mantras, and practices Adaptation-based, that is, events-based, situations-based...
Use the magic of bioenergy recharging. I work with magical artifacts, and if desired, I can make my own. I can also enter the state of the kohen of the earth, their psyche of the cosmos of the universe, and receive new recipes and new practices on the fly, acting according to the situation...
I also draw on the knowledge of the ancient civilization of Arrata or Orrata, which predates the Egyptians. I also study and practice Vedic magic with Rao, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd circles...

Material success?
Sigils work for me in that matter. Also asking spirits, especially when I ask Azrael (angel of death), he really knows how to change things.

For material success, the strongest successes I've had are probably from the Goetic spirits / demonic magick especially when paired with offerings. I have also had blowback from these rituals as well when I asked for above what I could get at that time, but this is also what I would call a success as well because I knew it came from the ritual which counts as a "result". The methods I used in these cases were either Solomonic (ie ars goetia) based or from the "Demons of Magick" book by Gordon Winterfield. I used the Ars Goetia methods initially for bigger requests and while I initially thought this was more effective, I eventually got similar levels of success with the DoM method. But overall definitely got the most material success with demonic magick.

For more spiritual and internal work, it is a bit more varied. I have had a lot of success with angelic magick of various types from GoM for internal work. Of course the results were more subtle than the material results, but I did eventually notice some of the changes I asked for. But I really got a lot more powerful results by using the character transformation methods given in step I / II of Initiation into Hermetics (IIH) by Franz Bardon. Stuff like magical washing with cold water, conscious eating / breathing, and also some auto-suggestion have created a specific level of visible success that I can only attribute to those practices. IIH does not give too much on the specifics on how to use these practices in a specific ritual format, but rather gives the conceptual keys to understand how to use them. So I created my own mini-systems and rituals based around these practices for performing internal alchemy, which has worked out very powerfully for me.

I haven't had a lot of experiences with internal power stuff besides Franz Bardon and I haven't tried any other traditions like Hoodoo / Voodoo or Jinn related things. So it's a pretty wide world. I would say there is still a lot more to try before I can say objectively what has and will give me the most success.
