What’s the Astrology House For The Occult

I know in modern astrology the house associated with the occult is the 8th house. But, I’ve heard two astrologers say the occult lies in the 3-9 house axis. Is there anymore information on this?

That's a new one on me and I've been doing natal astrology since 1970. I could see the Ninth House as the domain of the "higher mind" but it doesn't compare to the Eighth House for occult purposes since it has been associated with philosophy and religion. I think even the Twelfth House beats it out.
