I'm drawn to Norse Paganism. I don't have a rational explanation for it but I just am and I have been for years despite my limited knowledge.

At what point do you transition from the myths to magick and what are some fundamentals for magick from a Norse perspective?

I think Scandinavian magic doesn't have a line of succession these days. This is a new model. Designed based on mythology. Therefore, knowledge of mythology is very important. You can develop your own rituals or use rituals created by other practitioners.

I can recommend a book "Taking up the runes" by Diana L. Paxson.

There is no time, it's an illusion, only the present.

Well you can start working with the deities you have more affinity in a devotional way. Or start working with the runes, either oraculously or magickally, or both haha. That's a cool beginning.

PERSONALLY i love the book Uthark by Thomas Karlsson but i know his not so much traditional and for everyone.

As fast as possible, which is the now anyway because you didn't yesterday. Experiences need to be experienced. Take just one myth at a time and think about how you would make magic of that. Every story, every myth can be used to 'inform' your magic, which is a personal experience anyway. Read out myths loudly and discover what catches your attention and see what you can use to match your intents. You can really develop your own ritual language out of this.

Meditate daily about Ygdrassil and learn to travel in and around this world tree. Keep records of that....

If I may politely disagree;

Start when you feel grounded. If life feels unstable both internally and externally, it might not be the best time to try changing your energy until you have better control over your own stability. Also, the occult tends to attract a lot of mental instability, which can unfortunately be worsened in the wrong people, settings, or environments. The occult almost encourages this instability, though of course that's debatable.
As long as you are stable both internally and externally, any energy you amplify will also remain stable.

There isn’t a right time to start practicing magick, but it’s best to begin now, as soon as you’re able. It can take a long time just to wrap your head around it, and even longer to get comfortable with the basics before you start practicing.

I also agree with Aldebaran that you’d want to focus on learning grounding first. So any issues you already have before starting magick won’t give you a hard time. That said, I still recommend starting as soon as you can, learn grounding, and build from there.

Find a good book on elf magic. There are some on amazon. Best time is free time. Thank you

I'm going to kinda draw from everyone here and suggest starting right now with meditation. It's the most essential skill to get down and will help you ground and center your energies for any work you want to start doing.

The main traditional kinds of Norse magic are Seidr and Galdr. Start doing that magic, when you want to go for it.
I recommend digging your nose into Elves, Witches and the gods.

The right time to practice magick is NOW. If you wait for some sort of sign to tell you, then you will never learn magick. You are the one making the decisions here, dont let others tell you when is the right time.
