I study Qaballah which goes back to the Jewish people in the middle east.
Crowley famously received revelation in Egypt with cult Thoth/Horus/Set (I'm not an Egypt guy).
I read now of China who have their own understanding of the world.

The Magick Olympics. I like it.

I do have a question, what are the qualifiers for "Best". Most effective? Most practiced? Most popular? Most liked? Scariest? Oldest? (Ha! There's a fight waiting happen lol)
I guess I shouldn't have best.
Different countires have different interperetations.
I suppose I mean'Which country is your favourite?'

I am reading something now which uses a lot of references to India (Brahma, Prana etc)

Ive seen some seriously ignorant statements on WF before but man, you fucking win.

How about I raise the bar on this whole thing and see if your ass is a big as your mouth:

Which Magick have you actually gotten real world results from? Any? Ever? What exactly? Describe it. Not from a book quote. Not a Google search. Your real world experience.

Let's be honest, have you actually done anything with Indian Magick? Or are you just trying to be edgy and different? Remember, this ain't Reddit dude. There are real deal practitioners around on this forum. I smell cat piss, so I'm calling it out. I see you.

For me magick as a science in egalitarian pluralistic countries that protect and allow freedom of spiritual practice for all within argued secular laws are the best for safe(from government and goon interference) self-actualized investigation, discovery and syncretism to benefit life in the modern era.
That's rather than the limitations of authoritarian dogma in the servile confines of a narcissistic hierarchal country circling the bowl clinging onto the feces of past delusions of spiritual grandeur flushing away the future.

Someone in another thread made reference to the Norse Gods, and how they live in the veil.
Wiccan, if you trace it back to the UK is very effective and so is Voodoo and African magicks

They’re so different that you can’t really compare them. You’d have to get into the nitty gritty of each country including its traditions, its culture, and its magick to understand what you’re actually working with.

The best magick for you might not be the one you’re using right now, or even the one that feels like it works best at the moment.

My magick by using symbolic objects to represent ideas works best for me. I have notebooks full of symbols or sigils that I have channeled. I don’t understand even half the content I make.,, But I photograph them all and have them on line. Some people call it light language I just keep channeling…. Magick is real and I trust this to be true.

Hmm. I think each country has to have its own different strengths and weaknesses. People have to deal with different regions so people in cold areas might have found good warming magic that helps stay warm.

People in warm areas might have good magic that helps them stay cold. Then theres whether its humid or dry area and then becomes what you need in humid climates vs what you need in dry ones.

Thats my guess to how magic gets formed. Unless you travel everywhere and then become a jack of trades master of none type deal. Nature and the elements and that type of deal. So it might really depend. You might really have to ask yourself what type of magic do you want or need right now.

Without being racist/ xenophobic and I know these probably wouldn't get brought up, I'd say Closed practice indigenous ( globally speaking ) spirituality because it's so gate kept and relies on oral tradition. You can't undo hexes or break through wards you have no concept of understanding and there's no resources to provide that information to you . There's very little books and even little people willing to speak on their culture's occult without superstitious repercussions. Most indigenous black magick practitioners operate in complete secrecy so you would never know unless you consult a counter part medicine man / shaman to divinate for you. Look up the story of the Chindi bloodline curse from the late 1800s with a blind navajo medicine man, and the actual history behind sk*nw*lk*r ranch for interesting stories of indigenous magick !

Another contender because I'm bias and can speak on the efficiency on real world application would be Hoodoo/Voodoo/ Vodoun ( from Benin ) and other ATRs. Afro centric conjuration is so fascinating !!! Fun stories to deep dive into would be the history of Gullah Jack, Uncle Monday, Harriet Tubman, Miss Ida and the Haitian Voodoo ritual that kicked off the Revolution.

What works best is that what you are able to connect and work with, it is up to the practitioner to decide. And if you find for yourself an hiatus, borrow from other systems and dare to go chaotic.

(rant on) But, before throwing the baby with the badwater, people should make the effort to really try. Reading books is not the same as the actual experience. It seems sometimes to me that people are reading a few books and/or find the initiator of the tradition controversial and conclude: no, this won't work. The thing is, magic doesn't work like that, you have to practice. (rant of)
