Which Country's magick is your favorite?

As far as I’m concerned, there is no such thing as better or worse magic.
I believe the most difficult part of this wonderful universe lies in finding your instrument.


Everything is deeply subjective and personal, and everything becomes incredibly powerful when it is the magic that truly fits you—when it merges with your inner world and acts as a catalyst, becoming a kind of condenser of energy.


The real challenge is to try and try again, to search, to study. Yet in my view, everything ultimately comes down to one’s own inner sensing. When we connect to our will and to our sensitivity, any instrument—no matter its origin or its history—can become powerful.


As Aleister Crowley used to say, “the proof is in the success,” and on this point I feel I strongly agree with him.

I'd say it depends on what is your cultural background, and even more, what you feel deeply called to. Not to people will have the same experiences and results working the same spirit or magick system.

My 5 cents here is that your local magick is the best. There must be a special link to energies of your home and heritage.

I would argue the "best" magical traditions are the ones that persist into the modern day fully. For instance Indian tantric tradtions, Daoist alchemy/sorcery in China, and legitimate Kabbalistic practices that are hidden behind lineage and tradition to most.

It is tempting to ask OP's question; I think we all have a desire to know what is "best" at something. But I'd also throw another question back and ask "best at what?", like others have done. No magick is 100% best at anything, no matter which tradition / country / lineage it comes from. And there are so many ways to phrase "best", that I think you need to ask a lot of questions in order to qualify this question. For example:

Which magick system / tradition is best for practical magick?

Which magick system / tradition is best for theurgy / inner work?

Which magick system / tradition is best for being "dangerous"?

Which magick system / tradition is best for being "high voltage" / "powerful"?

Which magick system / tradition is best for producing supernatural effects?


The list goes on and on without end. There is no answer to what country's magick is best because that entirely depends on the person who wields the magick. Some people might say Voudoun, others hoodoo, and others yet some shamanic belief. Many might even say hermetic magick, Kabbalistic magick, or Chaos magick. And certain people might say Tibetan magick, Taoist inner alchemy, or maybe even Shinto practices might be powerful. Who the actual hell knows? All of these in their own ways are effective for certain purposes and are quite powerful when practised by someone who is experienced and disciplined.

There is quite literally no objective answer to this question. OP would be better served to understand what the "fundamentals" of magick are and then find a system that resonates with them rather than wondering what is "best" or what is "powerful".

Not from where but from when. I'm more interested in the magic of deep time. Nationalistic groupthink is anethema to me. Heck, I even distrust language!

I'm new here on the forum and wanted to join this healthy discussion. I apologize for my English, as I'm learning about other magical systems and different cultures.
But the one I've seen with the most success, besides those of African origin and the indigenous ones here in Brazil, is Umbanda, which is based on the idea of offerings to the orixas and requests to their descendants. It's wonderful and has a certain level of speed.
Others like Candomblé and Kimbanda also stand out for their control of karma, and their practitioners act as judges, in addition to interesting rituals like the body-closing ritual.
