Which technique do you find most effective for achieving trance or altered states of consciousness?

Dancing and breathing, with repetitive sacred music usually. Also sometimes microdosing on psylocybine, but i dont think full on tripping is usually a good idea (see Josephine McCarthy's idea of strengghtening inner muscle)

The simpler I can keep it, the better. Laying down, getting comfortable, and emptying my mind has always worked best for me. I find that it's easiest first thing in the morning, when I'm still groggy but mentally primed to wake up instead of fall asleep.

I enjoy sitting in a dark but not completely blackout dark room and just stare in front of myself not at anything just zoning into the space after about 10 minutes of this you'll start seeing colors & your vision will start pulsing & sometimes you catch things moving after about 30-40 minutes of this the walls disappear & all you see is swirls of energy & strange shapes.

I started doing this when I was 12 I'm 36 & still do it after awhile you'll enter this state very fast & notice the shimmer that hides most entities from normal human perception I call it multi dimensional sight. Ignore the chills & vibrations you will feel.

Do not be afraid of anything you see it was there before you could notice it so fear is pointless.

Some entities or shapes will notice you seeing them & may try communication through dreams, thoughts, emotion.

Have fun my friend & remember the average human eye only see 0.040% of the light spectrum there is so much going on we are not aware of level up your sight everything levels up with it & doorways open for you.

Feel free to ask me anything in the regards my human friend

Repeated motions while listening to meditation music. You should try swaying too. Tap both your legs then your feet. Go slowly and do it over and over again while sitting.
That sounds like a great way to deepen the trance state and Thanks for the tip.

That’s a powerful method, I imagine zoning into that space helps quiet the mind since you use this practice regularly to access altered states, do you think it has changed how you see reality? Do you find that staying in that focused state allows you to connect with higher consciousness or other realms? Have you had any particular insights or even unexpected experiences or visions during this practice and do you do anything afterward to ground yourself back into normal consciousness?

I simply sit still and stare at a wall until i eventually stop blinking
That’s a straightforward and effective approach, Do you find that the longer you sit still and stare the deeper the trance becomes?

That makes a lot of sense keeping it simple helps the mind relax more easily. Do you have any tips for staying focused or avoiding distractions during those sessions?

Do you have a favorite type of sacred music or a specific rhythm that works best for you? I'll check out her work, I knew that name sounded familiar she's behind Quareia. Thanks for mentioning her, I'll look into it!

I do a few things - regular breathing is one of them but what really helps me is starting at a number and counting down when my eyes are closed. This is a technique used pretty commonly in hypnotic inductions, and I've found it to be really effective.

Though, to be honest, I think that the regularity that you use an approach is more important than the exact approach itself. Stick with something and be consistent and your mind learns to enter a trance state from that method and it gets easier.

It's interesting how such techniques, often used in hypnotic inductions seems to be in the consistency and the way the rhythm helps your mind transition into a more receptive state and have a profound impact over time.

For me, it wasn’t really about reaching a trance state itself, but more about staying immersed in the experience I was having during the trance. The focus for me is on maintaining that sense of presence and continuity in the experience rather than just getting into the trance once I’m in that state I find it difficult to maintain awareness within the experience.

I love to learn about different approaches people use.

The only one that's worked for me is just learning to be okay with distractions happening, and to make a habit of gently nudging my mind back to emptiness without dwelling on it when I notice it going on a tangent. It starts off hard and distractions will be frequent, but it does get easier over time if you make a habit of practicing meditation every day.

This may seem a little contradictory, but I've found that the less I try to keep myself in a trance, the longer it'll last. Letting myself be fully immersed in the sights and sensations happening can help me with deepening the state, but the more I actively focus on trying to do anything that's not a naturally occurring part of the experience, even just thinking about trying to stay there, the sooner I'll end up snapping myself out of it. If there's something specific that I want to do in that state, I've found it most effective to get it to happen naturally by spending a few days carefully meditating on that goal until it's drilled into my subconscious, and then trying the "let the mind do its thing" approach.

I’ve noticed the same thing trying to control the process can sometimes cause me to snap out of the trance prematurely. It’s fascinating how the mind responds better when we just let it be instead of trying to control every aspect, I guess trying too hard can actually interfere with the natural flow of the trance and thanks for sharing that it’s a good reminder that sometimes the best way is to just relax and let things unfold on their own.

Have you noticed any differences in the effectiveness of this method depending on the type of goal and Do you find it easier to focus on certain aspects of your goal, or do you try to internalize the entire thing at once?

First i do body relaxation ,relaxing each part of the body , i found that most tense places is the jaw and brows and they need the most attention.
Next step is going up the colour wheel starting with red ,visualising it till i can see it clearly/feel the vibration of the colour in my mind and from there going up to orange yellow green blue purple pink . Last step is a count down that when i get to one ill get into alt state ...usually it feels like an energy drop or "bass drop"
Its very simple but i find it very useful.
