[Help] Who/what was this entity?

This one has been on my mind for quite some time so it would be interesting to know if anybody here has either had a similar experience or has any advice as to whether I should try and find who/what it was?

The context is this. It was October of last year and my partner was running a “ghost tour” that he had created to deliver to guests at an attraction he was working at, taking them through the history of the ruined house in the grounds and leaving opportunity to experience things. He is very interested in these things but is rather sceptical, despite his continued interest. He did ask for a bit of help with it on a magical level towards the end of the few weeks that he was delivering it, around the time of Halloween. I gave him the Orphic Hymn to Saturn to recite and did so myself too that night around the time that he knew he would be. I’m not an adept when it comes to magic by any stretch of the imagination but I am an ancient astrologer and I do a lot of work with planetary archetypes.

Anyway, that night, I fell asleep and awoke to an awareness that something was in the room. It was strange as I don’t tend to have experiences like that. It was as though I could see where this thing was without physical seeing it in the room. I could see it in my mind’s eye within the room, almost like augmented reality. It was a strange and horrible creature. Chalky white skin and a humanoid form but crouched over and entered the room on its hands and feet like a gorilla. Skinny, I could see its ribcage. The most unsettling thing was that it was bald and had this haggard face that was covered in what seemed like tiny cats whiskers and it came to sniff me, like a dog. I closed my eyes and willed it to leave, and opened my eyes and it was gone. I felt bad as it didn’t seem aggressive but just so creepy and unexpected!

anyway, not sure what anybody would make of this, but interesting to recall it as it still flashes across my mind on occasion. I’ve always wanted to know what it was.

I did feel it felt very similar to sleep paralysis I had during pregnancy, but I only had it once and had it confirmed that what I witnessed in the house I was staying in that night had been witnessed by others prior to me, so I suppose the likeness there points in my mind to something “other”.

Okay, what do I do with a ghoul? I’ve not seemed to have been bothered by it since but the experience has certainly stayed with me. I’d be interested to know more or perhaps pointers as to where I can learn more.

We both spent a lot of time in this space (known nationally to be incredibly haunted) over the years as I used to work there as well and did experience various paranormal events that both of us would tend to put to the back of our minds as sceptics, although I’m certainly not one anymore. So we have had different encounters there but never had the sense of anything that sort of followed either of us home or anything with such vivid imagery. It was so peculiar, I almost felt my mind couldn’t have invented it but of course it’s possible it did. We have both extensively used ouija boards and the like, having no belief they would do anything, but experienced many years of no issue doing this, so this instance shouldn’t have been any different in theory. The difference I recall was the hymn to Saturn.

Further to this, when my partner eventually came home, he showed me that he had been burned on the hand during the night from an unknown source although he remembers the pain of it happening and it having no tangible cause. Unsure whether that would be connected.

Why a ghoul? What is it? What did it want? Questions, questions, questions…

This place is a bit haunted. The couple who used to live here lost a very valuable vase, and they never really got over it. All the waves of sadness around that loss kind of built up in the space over time.

Those waves have given a current to quite some dark spirits and entities. Because of that, I’d suggest you both don’t use a Ouija board in this place.
