Like everything, intent matters. Worship is typically viewed as adoration, devotion, and/or reverence.
If your prayers are all "oh great XXX, amazing demon of [insert motive]. I greet you and provide these gifts. ..." then yeah, it can potentially be considered an act of worship, but it also depends on the daemon or demon. There are usually specific requirements to be considered worship.

Most of the time, in daemonalatry, you are requesting a partnership or commanding a presence. That does not mean worship. That means establishing a relationship and requesting aid. Being complimentary does not automatically mean worship though. Walking up to a stranger in the store and complimenting their presence does not mean you are worshipping them.

But if your intent is worship, then that affects all actions that you do when working with demons and daemons and changes the scope of the interaction.

It entirely depends on what you mean by these terms. What is "praying?" Is it just talking to a spirit? Is it singing their praises? Is it declaring yourself as their servant or dependent? And what is "worship?" Is it to really like someone? To find them inspiring? To take them as your existential center?

I believe, it’s normal to think of praying to a demon or imploring its favor as "worship."
Whether you call it a litany or a prayer - it's just optical.
I don't think the devil is looking for words. :)
