Yes.... A lot of Witches and Warlocks don't realize that they don't need tools or Crystals. Perhaps, some of them know that they are complete and whole. Witches don't need to do anything. They are The Magick. You are God having a Human experience. Therefore, you don't need to rely on tools. For example: I use myself as a Pendulum. I ask my Soul Yes or No questions. Whenever I ask it Yes or No questions. Either I feel a vibration if it's Yes, and don't feel anything if it's No. So you see, you don't need nothing but yourself. Although, I get the whole idea of wanting to use tools. It makes you do something. As I said on another post, I use my Imagination for everything. I have a Powerful imagination. Again, you are The Magick, and you are The Miracle. I know it's fun to do rituals and use tools and Crystals, but don't forget about yourself.

Magick users think they need tools and robes, 9-foot circles, statues, Watchtowers, calling quarters, and an altar. This just makes the suppliers rich. My first question about this is, "What are they afraid of, why are they so rigid, and what do they think is out there to harm them?". Maybe they just like the ceremony. Is the Earth a sphere that has circumferences? How about using Gaia as the sacred circle. Why does it have to be a rigid circle with a doorway, and not a free-flowing sacred space that contains the participants no matter where they are they are? Are robes really needed? No, it's a crutch that says, "I am a real Magician!" Crystals - or glass is - a nice focusing and power storage battery, but do you really use your own Magic "power", or do you have a "Donor" to lend you some? Nothing's free, so you could trade in favors.
"But I need tools!" There once was a philosopher, Plato, who said there is a Plane of Forms and that Everything has a "blueprint" there. So, borrow what you need from there and use them by Seeing (visualizing) them and using their defined "qualities" - just like in an old D&D game, or Object Orient Programming where each object has its defined properties. Is your magick bound to one place? What do you do when you need to use magick and you need it now, and you're at the supermarket, and don't have the luxury in being in your own Space?

Without a doubt, occult tools and materials have become over commercialized. It’s definitely a business now, and people are getting rich. Some people pedal low quality and useless items too.

Also, maybe you are so finely attuned with the occult that tools in general are useless for you, and you can perform magick at maximum power without any tools.

But to say that tools are useless for everyone, and no one should use them is reductionist hyperbole. If they were useless and always have been, they wouldn’t have been conceived and used for centuries/millennia.

Statements like “you are God/the magick/the miracle” not only don’t apply to everyone, but actively invalidating people’s practices and beliefs.

Sure, maybe some teen somewhere is wasting money on some salt crystal from TikTok shop which will achieve nothing except make some crystal seller richer, but there’s some value in tools in the right hands. Otherwise they wouldn’t be a staple in occult practice and history.

It’s better to qualify your statements and call out problems you see directly, rather than super broad generalizations that are frankly… not that useful either.

I mostly use my imagination + my energy to perform magick and that's it.

If i need to change the energy of a room, i imagine myself within a place that matches the energy i would love the room to be. I condense all the emotion and energy generated into the famous "energy ball" then i see it exploding within the physical room.

I can use tarot cards to help with visualisation, i can make a spread that matches what i want. But i will cycle the energy myself and then put it into the world. It can be once again with the energy ball or through a candle, a glass of water, a essential oil diffuser or incense stick.

Music, pictures, symbols, scents... Are here to help me to get in the zone and generate myself the energy + the emotion i need for the magick.
