Greetings,

I was curious about how different people approach the aim of letting go of old patterns,
easing into the embodiment of the desired change, and removing inner blockages that are most commonly rationalized as limiting beliefs.

I guess I would approach it with a mixture of working through different pathworkings with Archangels and other other Powers,
I also thought about invocation rituals afterwards to rearrange some of these inner barriers more directly.

To really start a new path I also thought it might be benefiting to start a longer work again, like for example the Success Magick enochian workings of the Gallery of Magick that span over about a year while doing the other works on top of these short daily rituals.

How would you go about ushering in a new version of yourself? Would you give it a name and connect a moodboard to it?
What physical triggers comparable to those used in lucid dreaming or maybe folk witchcraft would you use?
I also thought of getting and creating a few new talismans that remind me of the new me I'm pulling into myself.

As I'm also pretty well versed or experienced enough to trust myself with entheogens I will also use these from time to time as a reset into more healthy ways of perception and to also let go of some unhealthy habits through connecting to my own body better.

What gods or demons would you work with to create a before and after?

Thank you & favor to y'all! 🧙‍♂️

I somehow shed what doesn't work for me anymore, like old skin from a reptile. This tends to work the best for me.

Though when it comes to leave the old behind, energy of death does the trick. As a Vampire I don't really seek too far. Also I worked with Azrael few times, but any embodiment of death does the work.

Makes sense, I remember chanting Kali mantras intuitively to end a certain relationship pattern that evolved between a former partner of mine and me. Also psychopomps and threshhold deities could make sense, like Hekate and others maybe.

Good input, thank you!

There are different folk witch things I tried and used and of them is a special kind of divination. One can use the crystal ball (or a bowl with water in my case) to watch on forehand which difficult situations can come on your path if you are the new you. If you see these possible timelines, you can make an action-plan out of this so that you have already an idea how you can react to these challenges. For people who are less familiar with the crystal ball, I guess tarot or runes will give you information too. So this part is about anticipating.

A well known folk witch method is writing with a pencil on bay leaves what you want to leave behind and throw it in the fire. Personally I would suggest a (not so) little change to make it much more powerful. I would make a urn of clay. Burn the bay leaves, put the ashes in the urn and bury the urn. I would even make a real grave of it, do a real funeral to bury the old you. It is a really boots-on-the-ground way of working! You can make a combination with a puppet for the new you. So before the funeral of the old you, I would make a puppet for the new you. I would indulge that new you every day with attention and giving it a little baby bed to sleep in, holding the puppet on your arm cradling it as a baby and telling stories about the new you want to become. Sing it a lovely lullaby before you put it to sleep.

Not a folk witch thing, but more psychological / or writing as a magical act: you can write a fictional story with a main person that goes through the transformation you want to achieve. When doing this, your mind will point you to challenges but if you write it with a good and positive ending you give your mind the opportunity to really belief the upcoming change. So you are changing with this method your personal myth.

Surely, there are spirits, daimons, angels and deities that can be asked for help, but I think that what I described in this post, is powerful enough to make the change. If this is not enough there is something off with the why you want to make this change and/or with how it connects to your personal story. Or there are lessons not learned yet. If that is the case, I would personally certainly ask a spirit for help to make me understand that.
