The amazing thing is none of these non-corporeal 'things' warned humans about climate change or ai. None of them even gave a head's up about covid (whereas somehow lil ole me psychically knew it would be a worldwide issue right away). The other remarkable thing is that basically everyone just accepts this and doesn't question it. The blinders people wear...

Just maybe- feeling some energy and getting a few results doesn't translate into these things being what every religious person and most occultists think they are.

Forging your own vision, and thus your own path, seem to be the most difficult thing for the human primate. Ok, you can stamp your feet and explain it all away now.
What if the spirit realm has just been anthropomorphized like everything else we touch? Why do we think we are center of everything, including the existence of gods? Maybe they exist outside us, not in spite of, and not dependent on.

@HoldAll had a great question, 'why should they?' and man that makes you stop for a second. What if they dont get involved as much as some of would like, and not enough to bother proving they exist. Maybe they dont require us to believe in order to exist.

What's worse, the gods not existing and the majority being wrong, or that they do exist and dont come to you to prove they exist?

lol Gods, spirits, etc, will (and do sometimes) intervene and help someone in traffic court, but won't give a heads up about existential issues of mankind? I'm finding this rather nonsensical and it gives lie to the 'not a nanny' argument.

The better explanation is these things are egregores.

The 'eminent' Franz Bardon had a spirit tell him about alleged developments in the future regarding dental care, but somehow he and they missed out on all sorts of larger things. This is quite amusing.

I'm obviously aware this cuts completely against the grain of people's emotional attachments and that's fine. It's at least something to contemplate though. I keep saying occultism is really about standing on your own 2 feet in personal development and transforming into an immortal being without needing any outside assistance, but others are satisfied or limited to what the more common forms tell you to do. I don't seek to win a popularity contest or anything like that.

(As far as climate change - guy, you simply don't know what you're talking about. You have a personal vested interest in disbelieving and no amount of data would sway that. And it's more than 60 million they are spending on pumping water. The area is on permeable limestone, and water seeps through that way as the ocean rises. That's why they didn't have to pump the water in the not distant past.)

So you believe there are immortal beings?

If you achieved your goal, would you be the first? Would you be completely alone? Would this be because of some kind of spiritual or energetic faculty? Would there not be other beings (gods spirits etc) who would be immortal and living alongside you?

Meh. This kind discussion results from a category error. Of course we are dealing with useful illusions at multiple levels. The 'god' of magic is Hermes, who is a thief, a liar and teller of tall tales.

For many years I've considered fictional characters coming to life is pretty much the core method of sublunar magic (sorcery) and Imablican theurgy . In the older viewpoint, going as far back as Byzantium that we know of, ALL magic was sublunar , which is a separate domain than mind-mysticism-magic of Hermeticism and New Thought. Yeah, we have watch out for the eidolons in the tempetuous astral flux. Standard MO for sorcerers.

In the sublunar world the thought-beings (spirits, daimons) use our stories, myths to take form, names, and interact with us for our mutual benefit, and sometimes detriment. These stories useful conventions for inter-dimensional diplomacy. It's supposed to be fun, in this high-fidelity MMO RPG we are all playing in.

So all the neopagans want to be grand poobahs of really-real things.. and they are real, but not like your bicycle or some bokchoi is real. When dealing with thought-beings , yes, it it more efficacious to treat them as totally what the stories say they are. But they will alwasys be half you (and part of the Story we are all making together).

The other half is The Mystery. What that is "exactly" that is the real crux of the where this kind of argument comes from. That's a theological discussion, not a magical one.

Anway, for aa more breezy read, if folks don't want to read Iamablicus and Patrick Harpur, check out this pretty spot-on new book by paranormal author Joshua Cutchin:

I'm not going to answer this directly, but certainly there are various non-egregoric sentient beings out there. For instance

My interactions with 'them' were much more extensive than stated and quite insane. I really don't expect to be believed, except by someone hooked up enough to psychically know Im telling the truth.

What's the use in believing in aliens if they didn't stop covid or 9/11? You may be their angry little prophet, but so are others who say the same things about angels and deities. It sounds like semantics to me.

Why would they? versus, say, someone's ancestors with a supposed interest in the well-being of their devoted descendents (Asia furnishes good examples of this). Your question doesn't even begin to grapple with what I was saying

You may be their angry little prophet
That's all in your own head.

I don't "do" aliens, but if that's what happened to you, excellent!

We can't erase other people's lived experiences. My "abduction expedience" happened after a ritual with the Grimorium Verum, my main grim for 25 years; when one of my long-term daimon allies appeared in my room as solid as any other person or a refrigerator , came over to me where I was sitting, and a hit me in the middle of my forehead with his claws and "took me", healed me of a couple of maladies, ,and gave me some weird powers I do not talk about, but have been very useful in surviving in the hostile corporate environment at one of the most famous tech companies in the world.

In Jacques Vallée’s Passport to Magonia, and especially Joshua Cutchin’s work, present pretty exhaustive research supports the strongest hypothesis, in my opinion, that these are all the same or similar class of beings taking different forms. Modern abduction reports replicate historical encounters with faeries, demons, and spirits, with only technological framing changing.

It has been too many years so I had to use AI to get more of the details, but here:

From Ritual to the Men in Black: Albert Bender’s Occult Encounter

Albert K. Bender, founder of the International Flying Saucer Bureau and editor of Space Review, claimed in 1953 that he solved the UFO mystery through an occult experiment.

After performing a ritual involving focused visualization in a darkened room, he was visited by three shadowy figures in black suits—later dubbed Men in Black—who materialized in his bedroom, induced terror and sulfurous odors, and telepathically warned him to cease UFO investigations.

Before departing, they pressed a metallic disc (a talisman) into his hand, instructing him to place it on a glass of water when he wished to re-establish contact; the disc would then glow and summon them.

Bender immediately shut down his organization and remained silent for years.

A few years before Covid, its arrival was fairly obvious to a large sector of the conspiracy theory groups. Doctors were dying or disappearing, we got to learn the new word "pandemic," and there were other signs. Trump even said "Covfefe" was, in his own words, "Maybe the biggest thing in the world, to some people who know exactly what I meant when I said that." If you were paying attention to the fringes, it's really not too far out to suggest that your brain put 2 and 2 together and gave you a heads-up. Maybe you can call that psychic power. Near the event itself, it was even more evident, about the time they were pretending that the "vaping crisis" in the Midwest was from something other than a then-unknown virus.

Climate Change is most likely bullshit. Sorry, you've been played. Sorry, scientists aren't always scientific. Yes, hairspray is nasty and pollution is bad, but don't let that stop you from buying a beach house.

Ai has a lot of hype around it right now, and people are screaming alarms over it daily. But mayyyybe that's all BS too. Sort of like telling people in the early days of TV that it will lead to mass hypnosis and govt propaganda. Yes, it will do that, but is it really that bad or can we live with it? And who knows, maybe even TV is in the Bible. Doesn't the Second Beast make an image "dedicated unto the Great Beast," which speaks blasphemies in every home? A significant number of people identify Ai as The Antichrist, a stand-in for godlike intelligence that promises a remedy for all things and preserves the dead as ai replicas rather than resurrected glory.

In 2012, I asked one of the Goetia spirits about whether there was any truth to the conspiracy theory elements like UFOs, DUMBS, etc. The full list of conspiranoia. I was told that there was a secret effort to make a disease that was going to be used to take over the world, to avoid the shots at all cost, and expect it to eventually corrupt the food supply. Rather than death, its primary power would be to weaken people and make them unable to work. I took what actions I could to plan ahead for that. I had plenty of toilet paper in 2020.

Most of the people who say God or spirits reveal something are, sad to say, full of shit, and that's all you need to know to explain why they don't get things right. Or they're just crazy and repeating whatever they see in media that makes them excited. And a lot of what we are told on TV, and what gets backed up by universities and other science people, might be propaganda.
Thank you for speaking common sense.
I will just reiterate what any truly independent person knows :

AI is not really AI, it's a stupid, insane , largely unusable bubble for hype and money making. A tool to literally physically make normies even stupider than they already are. Sorry to sound elitist, but if you get hooked into having a machine do your thinking for you, well that's the blunt answer.

COVID was largely just what it says, a cold. A new /novel cold. Most likely tweaked in a lab, but luckily they didnt do as much damage with it as it could have. Not that bad comparatively. The real pandemic was the psyop of human control , and the purposeful changing of financial and societal systems, and large swarths of the population are still mindfukd from it. Probably permanently.

RE spirits and gods. If you do any amount of meditation and magick, you will know we will never truly know the objective existence of these things. Because we are stuck in human bodies. Furthermore, it makes no difference if they have objective reality because there is no objective reality. The quantum realm teaches us that spaces and words like 'astral' are other ways of seeing the illusion of reality. Our minds and energy and thoughts create reality. So if the God was here first, or if it is only here now because we think of it, make no difference. Because we are God. see how that works?

Exactly!

This is why modern magicians like Kenneth Grant were and are so important in my opinion.
He showed in his weird prose way, how creative imagination is important.
How (as you know) imagination IS magick - if you have the proper intent ,focus, and ability to pierce the astral and etheric.
Then this will create change in the 'physical'
Nice post. I would like to read Cutchin, I never have

Rock on, Sahgwa!

And what is up with modern magicians and neopagans needing to recruit everybody into their highly personal worldview? Half-joking here, but maybe they're experiencing empty servers and chat-rooms in their part of the Matrix? Join up on better servers folks!

Everybody still feels they must "explain" all reality or their magic won't work. A couple of years practicing trad magic, which was spirit evocation, of having your own full theopanic manifestations, with enough successful practical results magic, this will cure these conversations that like a bad case of acne

Simulation Hypothesis does the same work, but a little Tantric Buddhist perspective goes a long way:

There was a story about a very materialist-rationalist Vajrayana practitioner who asked his lama if Green Tara is "actually real" or if she’s just "an archetype" a convenient tool they use for consciousness exploration.

The lama thought about it for a moment and finally replied,
“The only difference between yourself and Green Tara is that Green Tara knows she isn’t real”.

I don't even really do results magick anymore. I find that , as cheesy as it sounds, being 'with the dao' /harmonic/ pleasant, focussed gets me what I need.
After all, life IS magick.
It just needs to/depends on be/ing looked at that way. ..
Once you are riding the wave and having a 'normal' successful life, you can do real magick, which to me is exploring inside yourself. Exploring consciousness.
Trying to vibrate higher. Integrate the lower.
Its all inside cuz we are all Pan ;)
Trying to rationalise it too much breaks the spell.
Logic has a place but it has to be tamed.
Sorry if I am rambling I had coffee. lol

Agreed, and yeah, Dzogchen, the clear light of consciousness is always RIGHT here .... but it sounds like such a sweet deal, now it just encourages mix-maxxing and spiritual bypassing, without doing the work. Like look at me! Bodhisattva, and Ascended Master and Adeptus Exemptus Star Lord of the First Frequency, all at once! Join my OnlyMage!!!

LOL OnlyMage :D :D
Yeah you get what I am saying. No bypassing!
For me, daily ritual is necessary. It is like recharging a battery. Refining and confirming the Connection to the Source.
But I believe ritual is only a way of training my mind so I can have that 'natural' magick throughout the day.
Mindfulness meditation/asana is also very good. Until I reach a state of no mind/or dhyana, whichever. Obviously some days I don't get sh*t, it's just here is me sitting. But that too is training right?
Lately I am back into some astral forms of my banishings, to strengthen my visualisation. But I feel you get more qi with the physical forms .
Its a nice balance.
Where were we?
Oh angry shouting 'GOD IS USELESS' well if you have that experience, then maybe try being less blinded by anger . (to the OP)
