All the little turtles eventually become big serious magicians. But I gather a preliminary stage is a schizo-like paranoia. At least that was the case with me and I noticed with some other people too. What it was like in your case if you don't mind sharing?

In my case it was waking up at 3 am scared shitless of nothing in particular, waiting till 4 to get back to sleep. Weird dreams, near-dream hallucinations (just before or just after waking up). Seeing "relevant" stuff everywhere. The general feeling of unease as if all hell was about to break lose any time. Didn't last long, maybe a month from the proper opening and would have small comebacks over the course of a year or so.

No ... they do not .

But I gather a preliminary stage is a schizo-like paranoia.

I would say you have a big warning sign there . If this is the case I suggest you enroll in the vary rare sensible and somewhat underground and modernly unpop tradition of first getting professionally psychiatrically balanced by someone that has expertise in both that field and magick eg Dr Israel Regardie's later work .

NOT like what you describe at all , for starters .

This ! ^ Do stud and research I mean, even 'the wicked Aliester Crowley' would advise people saying things like this to
''Go and do some gardening for a while ! ''

That was a bit of a troll post. I wanted to even delete it, but couldn't figure it out so left it (UI PROBLEM ADMINS, doesn't pass retard test). Sure I had some anxieties but "schizo" is way exaggerated.

I appreciate your concern and I assure you I spent enough time and money on medical professional, never being diagnosed with any psychotic tendencies. None of those doctors were familiar with magickal traditions as far as I know.

Yeah, stuff is well under control now. Back in the day I was messed up, depression and all, so when I got blasted by encounter with the occult, I did not have a frame to withstand it without taking hits. That's how I interpret it from time perspective. Physical training and getting busy solves problems that people with too much time on their hands create. And getting into traditions that promote lucid thinking really helped as well.

Are those paranoid "currents" gone completely? No. But there are layers between this stuff and the core. As if I was on a boat watching water surface vs swimming in water. Identification with that stuff is gone is what I mean.
