Very simple candle magick to attract luck

You don’t need anything but a green candle and a candle snuffer.
(Do not use tea lights, white candles, or any other colored candles)

You can do this any day, and at any time.

Light the green candle.

Then write down your intention on a small piece of paper: “Attract good luck to me and let me be at the right place.”

After that, fold the paper a few times and put it away in a corner. It has to be in a corner.
(Corner of a cabinet, or corner of a room, etc.)
(Do not place anything on top of the paper)

Sit in front of the green candle, close your eyes, and focus your intention once on “Attract good luck to me and let me be at the right place.”
(Focus on the intention itself, not on the paper you put away)

After you finish setting the intention, let the candle burn for exactly 45 minutes, then snuff it with your candle snuffer.
(Do not blow it out. Do not let it burn all the way down either).

If you want to repeat this, wait 14 days from the day you started. After those 14 days, you can throw away the paper.

When you start this again, use a new piece of paper, but you may reuse the same green candle as long as it still has at least 45 minutes of burn time left.

Does it have to be solid green wax? What about a white one painted? I will look for green in store but white is what I usually have.

Also, when I'm not doing something specific like this, I love the new big LED candles. NOT the cheap ones with coin bats,

but the ones that take 3 real batteries (rechargeable!) and an electronic 'flicker' effect, that is better than just moderation

of the brightness. I use these on my altar, less dangerous than open flame. Especially on a low altar, or with cats around.

These def don't come in green, but IDK if they would work for something like this.

(I let my son keep my cat, he needed him more than me, but soon, soon)

Yeah, it needs to be a solid green candle, because green color is for luck. This was made specifically for a green candle too, so it can’t be white, or a white candle painted green, or an LED candle. But you can get any unscented green candle for cheap.

In the UK, there is a Danish chain of shops called "Flying Tiger" - they have all kinds of odd things, including candles of all different colours (including black).

Ya, I do use colored candles, but sometimes they're 'fake'. It's really a white candle, with a 'sheath' of maybe 1/8" colored wax all around.
You only find out about the white wax 'core' after it's been burned for a while, and it's exposed. I guess they cheap out on pigment this way.

Only time I've seen this never done is with candles in jars, then it's usually all one color. Might be better even, as the jar lid is 'built-in' snuffer.

Think that will work OK?

I don’t really understand why you’d spend the effort painting over a candle, or wrapping it in a different colored wax, when it’s cheaper and way less work to just buy a cheap, unscented candle for under a buck. Or spend a few more bucks on a giant one you can reuse over and over.

Like you said, the candle is still white underneath, not green, and once it burns for a bit, that’s what shows, no matter how you try to fake it. In certain sessions or rituals, candle color is crucial because the work was created for that specific color, not as a substitute. With that being said, you can create your own ritual using a white candle to attract luck, but it would be a different ritual, and the steps would need to be done differently.

And no, it won’t work in a jar. That work was created with the candle being in the open to attract luck, putting it in a jar is hinder it. If you want to use a candle in a jar then again you’d have to create a completely different session with different steps than the one mentioned here.

Could you please explain why the candle should not be allowed to burn all the way down? I’m just curious and would like to understand for educational purposes.

You don’t let a candle burn all the way down in any candle magick session/ritual because it skips the ritual closure. The ritual closure is when you snuff the candle out, and at a very specific time that’s built into each ritual.

It does indeed work. Exactly seven days after I did this, three times in a row the number 7 came up.

First time was at Dollar Tree, where the bill was exactly $7. Second was another store, where the bill was again $7 even.

That's never happened. Went to the gas station, only pump #7 was open, and @ 7.01 gallons of gas the pump shut off.

I went inside and bought a lottery ticket. The Big Game, $400 million for $5 first time ever buying one of those.

No win, I was too greedy, but I felt the luck. Who knows what would have happened if I bought the daily lottery as I used to do.

Probably would have won, I think. A lesson to all.

i only have VIGIL CANDLES.....can i use that?

For this luck session, the green candle is the ritual, not just a substitute for any candle color. A white vigil candle won’t produce any result at all.

If you still want to use a white vigil candle, you’ll need to use a different ritual. This one is for a green candle only, I already addressed that in the second sentence of this thread.

Why does it have to be green ? Money where I am isn’t even green. Just wondering how green corresponds to green?

In Hoodoo / Southern Conjure, green is the color of wealth attached to money because of the American Greenback. This is an American Culture coded working. But since we exported American culture (and the dollar system) around the world, it may be haunting you dreams and economy enough to work. :)

New Orleans style 'Fast Luck ' rootworking condition oils are green (and red). These colors have deep cultural associations here , but you can put on your empathy-feeling radar and look around at what that is simialr in your local culture and biosphere, and use those. All good!

Green can be associated with the Lesser Beneficent planet Venus, who is green in much folklore. Similarly, if you are in the desert, green takes on so much importance as life, growth,

A GD / Christian Kabbalah hoodoo-style prosperity working can be done using the color blue for Chesed / Jupiter.

Example (and upping the complexity a bit) :.
Balthazar is a Dutch rootworker who learned American Hoodoo from Lucky Mojo and is combining it with the classic grims. Good stuff. I came up with a similar approach back in the 1990's . Not that I am special, this is just how folk magic works and adapts.

For a less Kabbalistic symbolism, gold is usually associated with wealth. Yellow is used here as a stand-in when it's hard to get metallics.

In Latin American botanicas, you'll find candles and soaps that combine yellow, green, and red. Yellow draws the gold/wealth, green ensures it grows and stays, and red provides the forward-moving power and aggression to keep envy (the Evil Eye) from ruining your success.

I hope that helps get a sense of the 'dream-logic' behind it. For a more on the intellectual side, look up the 'Doctrine of Signatures. '

The why is simple, and it has been brought up many times above. This session was created for the green candle only. That’s the ingredient the session is built around. It doesn’t matter that the paper color of currency where you are is pink and yellow. That doesn’t change what this session was made to do.

And I don’t understand how people will do all kinds of rituals with 7-8 quite expensive ingredients and won’t even question them, even when a lot of them don’t bring any result. Yet people want to debate the candle color in candle magick, which is the funniest thing to me because it only costs a few cents. And because the candle color in candle magick is the ritual itself. So when it says green, you use a green candle. Otherwise, you fail the ritual, because you fail the one ingredient needed for the session.

If you want to use yellow or pink in correspondence to the currency color where you are, then you have to create your own ritual according to your specifications.

this is just how folk magic works

A lot of people don’t understand that folk magick can work with anything. If a practitioner only has a black candle that day and they want to do some simple candle magick to attract luck, that can be done with a black candle. But that would be a completely different ritual than what was shown here in this thread.

Same thing with add ons. If the practitioner feels like adding oil to the candle, then it’s no longer the same ritual, it becomes another completely different ritual than the one using only the black candle. So the one to work with luck using a green candle, the one using a black candle, and the one adding oil are three completely different rituals.
