Calm down first and foremost, with that kind of panic you may end up being a self-fullfilling prophecy.

After that, Magickal Defense by Damon Brand, do the master ritual for a month. This should do the trick.

Don't worry about it. If he's making a bunch of threats instead of just doing it, he's likely weak. And if you know he's going to do it - you're able to predict it, redirect, and ground the influence. If he doesn't have any specific information to use as a 'taglock', it's even less likely that something will happen. As @Vandheer mentioned, you only hurt your situation by freaking out. In a manner of speaking, intimidation has its own power.

We need to put the panic aside, and start taking action. First, to help you, you need to understand what tradition you are close to? Are you baptized? Or close to other Gods? If a fight is imminent, I would strike first. I'd make a mess of things so that the enemy wouldn't have any time for me. Health problems, for starters. Add a protective mantra for flavor, and put your pain in the mantra. Fight your trances of submission and weakness. He is nothing.

There is a lot of good advice already, but I'll pile on a little more.

A Qabalistic and immediate defense is to send the person cursing you a blessing. It sounds ironic at first blush, but the idea is that the outgoing + energy cancels out the incoming - energy. The method is recommended by William G. Gray in his book "Exorcising the Tree of Evil".

To reinforce what other people have said, don't let anyone psyche you out. If you do, then you've already handed them power over you.

Thinking of yourself as stronger than him, and doing Damon Brands protection magick, will certainly help. But if he's a serious practitioner, and you're a non practitioner, it might be similar to someone who's never played football, suiting up 5 minutes before the Super Bowl kickoff, and hoping to be competitive. Of course don't be fearful, but also assess the situation honestly.

As with everything, extensive divination to get a complete picture of the situation is the first step. If divination says you can handle him, great. If divination says you're cooked, hire someone to handle him for you.

I must say, he is likely bluffing. Any sensible practitioner would NEVER tell someone if they are about to do something like that to them. As that is telegraphing. If you really want to attack someone like that you have to make sure they are unprepared and do it without a warning. He is likely only saying that to intimidate you. He probably doesn't even have the slightest clue how.

I agree with this, up to a point. I would consider this idea of striking in silence an intermediate practioners point of view. If someone is powerful/confident enough, or more accurately, perceives the difference between their power levels to be great enough, they may give warnings, as fear can be even more useful than the element of surprise.

See and Feel roots growing into the Earth and Positive Earth Energy rising from them to your ankles. See the chakra at the base of your spine, the sexual chakra, open like a flower or a whorl, and use it to draw Energy to it. See it rise to your lower waist, your waist, then to your heart; See the centers of your hands as chakras, See the energy rise from your hands into your arms, and rise to your throat, then to the middle of your forehead. See the energy rise to the top of your head, watch it spill over outside like a fountain, and See it return to your feet and flow up from your feet again several times while drawing in more energy from the Root. See it form a barrier, an outwards-facing 2-way mirror around you. See a Bucket, Fill it with Energy, pour it on the person's head, and See an Inward-facing mirror around the person! See and pick up a bronze dagger and Feel its weight. Locate the astral cords that represent the unwanted soul attachments, etc. It's probably close to your heart chakra. There's one primary "Silver" Cord you may See, *Do. Not. Cut. It.!! * See your heartstrings then look for those that don't belong. If there's a hook then remove it with the blade, then cut the cord, See it fall away and disintegrate. See it heal. You can keep the mirror barrier, or let it drain back to the Earth. Close each chakra in turn starting with the top of your head. Put your Gifts and the dagger on Table for later use. Say "So mote it be!"!

I must respectfully state, that while intimidation, yes, is a powerful tool along side magick, as a practitioner, you can never know for sure how powerful someone is. Therefore, it is (in my book at least) a horrible idea to state you will do something to someone you know nothing about. (Or that you think you know something about)
