Hello I practice Ogdoadic Magick and there is no ritual to Banish specific Elemental Force, we just Banish all of them in one single ritual, this way we get rid of these energies and set our space ready to work with, but lately Ive been reading Golden Dawn material, I got from this page Lyam Christophers book Kabbalah Magic and I liked the beggining in which he states the Neophyte must Banish Earth to get rid of Materialistic attachment, so he can pursue a more Spiritual goal.
Is there a problem if I do Ogdoadic Magick as my main tradition, but I use the LBRP to Banish Earth ? Some one told me the purpose of Elemental Magick, Banishing and Invoking is to Balance one, I understand, but then again I am a Neophyte and I do think I am still to much attached to Material means, and I ve seen improvements in my behavoir when I stopped the Ogdoadic practice, and did Golden Dawn Magick for a while, but now I am back to do Ogdoadic tradition.
Thank you.

Hello I practice Ogdoadic Magick
I don't think you have mentioned that before.
Is there a problem if I do Ogdoadic Magick as my main tradition, but I use the LBRP
Every other system in the world seems to get along with the LBRP, so I don't see why you couldn't.
to Banish Earth
You banish things / entities from Earth.
I ve seen improvements in my behavoir when I stopped the Ogdoadic practice
Interesting

Scrolling through the Norman R. Kraft book as well as Phillips's and Denning's works, I get the feeling that Ogdoadic magic builds is either a further development of GD magic or builds on the same foundations, i.e. the Western tradition. I see that Ogdoadic magic uses the Hermetic Qabalah as well, so there should be no incompatibility between its philosophy and the LBRP.

Maybe a good idea would be to run 'elemental diagnostics' by performing Franz Bardon's

to try to see what's really going on inside of you and your life. For example, a case could be made for the assumption that your penchant for partying is more indicative of a Fire preponderance (passion, reckless abandon) and not so much an Earth thing (Bardon disciples often describe their personalities in terms of elemental pairs, e.g. "Fire with Earth" or "Earth with Fire"). The importance of balancing the elements is stressed by many authors, and one of the purposes of the LBRP is to achieve just that.

Hello, I am reading again Lyam Christopher and he states that "The student of Magick must seek to have a naturally clear mind, that only appears when the materialistic wishes, beliefs and false perceptions have been eliminated", he explains this in his 2nd chapter, when he introduces the student to the LBRP, and in his curriculum the student must practice LBRP with the Banishing of Elemental Earth for 6 months.

You can note from the banishment earth pentagram that it goes from Earth back to Spirit. So in this sense it's a link between Earth & Spirit.
