What motivations does one have to choose the RHP in this age of darkness.
To resist the forces that threaten the innocence of our Children?
To tap into the power of Michael and Gabriel, as well as the hosts of heaven?
To live in accordance with natural law, in the body of the creator?

I don't think anybody consciously chooses the RHP, it's kind of the default setting from which some people decide to take the LHP because it suits them better - it's not as if occultists would suddenly find themselves at a crossroads at one point and then be forced to make an irrevocable choice between good and evil, that's fiction. Defending the LHP as a valid ethical choice and debunking all the misconceptions about the LHP (or Satanism in all its forms, Luciferism, demonolatry, etc.) isn't my job and has been discussed in various forum threads anyway.

That Egocentrism thread made me think… bringing about the Age of Light and so on is basically a theosophical idea, before Blavatsky everyone was in it for themselves but after her, occultists generally fell in love with the general idea but secretly still were in it for themselves, until LaVey came along and preached to his fans that it was ok to be in it for themselves. The chaos magicians were in it for themselves right from the start, and now everybody is more or less openly in it for themselves.

Living a virtuous life as a servant of light, god or whatever alone won't help the children or heal the world one bit. 'Tapping into' (sounds disrespectful, are archangels milk cows or something?) the celestial powers still means you're in it for yourself - which is the very definition of the LHP. The RHP has always relied on religions for its general philosophy which also has been a major weakness because in this way, it inherited their hipocrical morals, like "We abhor black magic unless it's for the common good", "We don't curse people unless they're really evil", "I may be in it for myself but once I'm there (which may take several lifetimes) I will unselfishly help my fellow men", "I despise violence but some people shouldn't be allowed to…" etc.

As I said in the beginning: I don't think anybody cares much about the RHP. Or the RHP vs. LHP dichotomy, about which somebody with a chaos magic background like me never every gave a shit anyway.

Yes. The motivations of the RHP seem trivial, but when examining the LHP motivations, they seem even moreso. Self-empowerment, protesting against the supposed slavery of religion, even being non-conformist, or 'freedom' are very shallow reasonings in my opinion. It seems like a counterculture bandwagon that now exists in Western Culture thanks largely to the work of some powerful satanists in Mass Media.

This isn't true. RHP magicians work against the most reprehenisble of forces. If the RHP magicians are given power by summoning Lucifer and Baal to advance an agenda in this world, then the RHP might as well as summon Michael and Gabriel in order to resist them. This isn't selfish it's for the sake of the good in the world. I don't even have children. These demons go mad with power, and run around totally unchecked, and sometimes need to be reminded that there is order in this Universe.

I don't mean to offend; I can see virtue in both sides, and anyway, people are born into their roles in a war, they don't choose them

This is sounding like an uninitiated, very exoteric understanding of the Right Hand Path. "Adapt yourself to 'natural law'" (a hugely complicated and misleading term which Aquinas was definitively wrong about by the terms of his own logic). "Fear what something might be doing to children". "Depend on someone else to protect you".

Why would a person reject that collection of ideas? For the same reason they reject the stupefying forces of consumerism, the lies of totalitarian ideologies and other fantasies told to keep the Abyss/Reality at bay.

Some consciousnesses are adult (this has nothing to do with the age of the body). You cannot force an adult back into being a dependant child again, that time has passed. The hallmark of an adult is responsibility: you are answerable to yourself and those you are responsible for, not a celestial Santa Claus, for how well/poorly you manage your household. This is perfectly compatible with an initiated, esoteric understanding of the Right Hand Path (at a certain level, RHP/LHP collapse into each other anyway, they're both about the refinement of consciousness) but it's not compatible with shirking responsibility, cowering around a night light and telling oneself soothing stories.

Most humans are not adults yet. They're at the psycho-spiritual level of young teenagers, loving freedom but not yet understanding that freedom has to be exercised with wisdom. There are obvious problems with this and the world is starting to live through them. For all of its problems, however, it is a step beyond returning to the nursery.

That is neither here, nor there. And it's not you, and you, don't know what to do.

I appreciate how some people can feel totally helpless. and incompetent but being insane can hardly be the answer.
Completeness comes in many forms, and if you are not complete, then it doesn't matter what stories you tell yourself.
Scary or not, soothing or convenient, none of it matters if you don't understand your place.
