If you only know the name of the spirit, you have no way of understanding if what you call is something that could be dangerous or not. Calling the spirit and trying to command it without ANYTHING aside from the name is the first way to invite unknown and potentially dangerous influences into your life. I am not saying that you will lose your soul or anything extreme, but you could be inviting misfortune and negative forces into your life if you go in as-is. For most beginners, you don't start by commanding spirits because "commanding" a spirit requires either knowledge of the spirit's nature, a strong will backed by divine influence, or at the very least magical technology that is used for spirit conjuration. Without any of these, you won't command anything in the spirit world as a complete beginner.
And even with magical systems / technologies, you still need to understand how to protect yourself. The spirit might be "commanded" in the moment, but if you piss it off by being disrespectful or if you make mistakes during the conjuration process, you will still run the risk of being subject to its influences outside of the ritual if it decides to stick around. I'm surprised very little is recommended you learn how to do protective magick for yourself. This is an essential prerequisite for any type of spirit work. Stuff like banishing rituals, wards, purification practices and more should be part of your vocabulary. At the very minimum, you should know an actual banishing ritual such as the sword banishing or even the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram in order to clear a spiritual influence away from your space and life.
Finally, there is a lot of problems with the approach you are advocating here of commanding it. Many spirits will not appreciate the first contact as being one of coercion and command. In many circles of magick, this type of attitude would be considered disrespectful in the best case scenario and even dangerous in the worst case. Binding the spirit to a ring, or using coercive threats against it will probably not achieve much in any case. You have no guarantee of knowing if you actually even binded the spirit to a ring / object successfully. If you decide to approach a spirit at first, it should be done with an attitude of respectful caution, as if you are approaching a stranger. You don't know who they are, you maintain a careful attitude, but you don't assume the worst in them until they give you a real reason to be careful. The same is done with a spirit, using a good ritual or conjuration protocol.
So if you want to do this, do the following things in order:
1. Learn some protection spells, such as a banishing ritual or at least some cleansing spells.
2. Buy a book of spiritual protection spells, such as "Magicakal Protection" by Damon Brand or "Reversal Magick" by Stephen Miller. These books will give you more advanced methods to protect yourself in case of more complex issues.
3. Learn a spirit conjuration system. As someone said earlier, the Solomonic system (i.e. with the triangle, ring, lamen, circle) is a good example of system. A proper system will contain additional safe guards to protect yourself during the ritual.
4. Learn whatever you can about the spirit, especially the type of the spirit. The spirit might be connected to your family background, which might give you some information on what it is. If your family comes from an Arabic background, the spirit could be a jinn for instance. You would do well to adapt your protective measures to the tradition of the spirit.
5. When you call the spirit, do so with the intention of getting to know it respectfully first. Use a system of divination, such as a pendulum or tarot cards, in order to communicate with it. DO NOT demand anything from it or attempt to command it by threatening it.
6. After several sessions with the spirit, if you have learned more about it, you may consider working with it. Only do this if nothing negative has happened so far as a baseline minimum.
If you do these steps in this order, you should be able to safely contact the spirit. I would not recommend leaving out the protective steps (i.e. 1-3). I hope this helps you.
