Couple of questions about the forum

What's the story behind it and how long has it been online? From the date at the bottom of the page it says 2010 so how come all threads start from about 2021? Lost all the previous ones?

p.s. update the current year at the bottom date so it doesn't look like a neglected forgotten site!

WF is actually quite old but it was down for some years. I thought it was even older than that. I think I discovered it in 2011, can't remember. The forum graphics, theme, was different.

I don't know exactly why it went down but it was gone for years.

It's nearly impossible to remember those days. I can remember some usernames and that they had a lot of posts.
One in particular called The Artis Magistra (?) had a very high post count.
Those were very early years for me and I was just reading the forums trying to get a wider picture of everything. I had a very low reply count. What makes it even harder to remember, I read all the available esoteric boards at the same time.

TheGodKing who is still here sometimes under a different name was known for making interesting posts. Then somebody called Euoi and ProtestantPriest made interesting posts every now and then.

There were interesting posts for sure, I definitely found what I was looking for.

WF seems to have a high number of new people registering every day ( compared to other forums I have been / are on ) .

Is this a recent trend ?

Either something has shut down and people 'switching over' , or indicative of something else ?

I noticed this too. So much so that it's almost like it was "planned". Large influx of new people for sure.
Then there's this tiny core of people you recognize!

Genuinely not being conceited here, but this is simply the case.

There is no "sudden" influx of members or increase in registrations. I look at the statistics weekly, and aside from the fact that there are large completely random variations daily, and seasonal increases and decreases of member registration, the overall trend is just that the number of daily registrations has been gradually increasing. It may slow down a little due to the library changes, and does sometimes spike when another occult site goes down (like what happened with studio arcanis etc) but overall there is simply going to be a relatively high base number of registrations because there aren't many other sites that compete with WF, and even the few that exist, are either not as active, not as high quality or have obnoxious moderation etc.

I'm really happy and somewhat proud to say (of course, as always, with huge thanks to the staff team and book sharers as well) that for anyone looking for a traditional forum community for broad occult discussion; WF is the obvious, and best choice. And so we will keep growing!

Yup ... thats what I found when looking for a magic /occult forum over the last few months ( well, casually , not systematic ) ... then
'magically' you guys popped up ! A very reasonable amount of good content ! Also it was easy-peasy to sign up ... someplaces I could nit even get through the process , many sites had no entries for months or years .

Actually it surprises me sometimes how few people actually automate that on their webs. I did automate it on mine very early on.
