Decoding entity communication

I have recently reached the point in my practice where entities have begun showing themselves to me in more overt ways.
Recently when I was deep in meditation I watched a large purple light spread across my wall, it was so overt that I actually turned around and checked that my blinds were still closed. It sort of became a green and purple orb of light twisting and moving in front of me, and I felt that “presence” that people tend to talk about. I had felt this before in the past but felt panicked and unprepared and quickly closed the circle and performed a banishing ritual, but this time I felt confident in my defensive abilities and instead felt curiosity and excitement.
I wanted to initiate communication but I only heard silence. I tried to watch for physical signs or any sort of change but I didn’t experience any.
In my rush to make “contact” I ended up attempting to use tarot divination for communication with this spirit, but I don’t know if that was effective, or how accurate the spread was as I haven’t heard much about people using tarot for communication. I tried my best to invite it into my dreams for communication and to lucid dream that night but everything that came to me in dreams was utter nonsense and didn’t seem to be connected.
I’ve also had experiences in the past where I have heard something or been show something in dreams or in meditation but it’s almost always in a language I don’t understand.
Does anyone have experience actually communicating with entities? How do you decode the nature of something that has appeared to you if you cannot communicate?

If a spirit truly wants to communicate something, they are able to do that. Usually they communicate with thoughts with me, when my mind is silent, I can sense the thoughts from them. and sometimes I can receive them in fully normal state.

Butt he truth is, you are on the way and you are on the right way. Any way you use for communication is good since you do not have direct way yet. If you keep contacting them as you do so far, there is a good chance that your spiritual senses will start to work in time. You can see them already. So your spirit sight developed already. Spiritual hearing will probably come later.

I've seen people using tarots and other mediums for communication (Ouija, pendulum, automatic writing etc). It is indeed possible, although I'd not recommend to obsessively rely on them and them only. First, because it is not as direct, and second, because it is far more limited, and it's easy to make mistakes if you grow sort of addicted or heavily reliant on this method, reducing accuracy and effectiveness, and result in misleading; it is a common issue, whether people admit it or not. I've seen people who once was making very accurate and good readings turn into far less effective the more they obsessed over it, to the point nothing truly worked out, yet they desperately tried to follow the results and trust in them. Besides, if your intuition falters, you may miss significant messages, without realising.
So even if one use these, one should never neglect practice and growth just because it worked once or twice. Intiution plays a significant part in using mediums too.

There are countless ways how a spirit can communicate with you. You need to listen and watch out for any possible signs, even external, but I suspect, you'd wish a far more direct contact, perhaps an actual conversation, not just signs and 'readings'.

I'll quote this part just to draw your attention to a very important particle. You fail to understand language if you lack the knowledge you need to understand. What I feel is, that in your case, you still have blockages and work to do on your senses, intuition and clear channels to receive their word, thoughts, feelings, and once you at it, you'll start to receive them.

With proper practice, eventually your mind will sink into a still and peaceful state you can supervise, where you can recognise the things coming to mind, that you can tell, are not yours. These moments are good to use other mediums to ground and see for yourself. Remember, you are a 'channel' yourself, and the receiver of the call in one. If you maintain yourself well, and restore what has been lost since your birth (as we all born ready for spirituality as a child, unspoiled, chakras opened and active), what they speak to you, what they wish you to understand will come more clear and easier to separate.

As @Morell said, you are on the right way, and it's a good thing you have questions, meaning you seek answers and wish to grow further.
Entities will attempt to contact you in many ways, watch out for signs like 'coincidences', a stray lyrics that feels like it contains the answer (from a song you merely if ever listened, perhaps through the radio), signs you pass by that has something to say to you specifically, as if it'd answer your question, persons appear in your life who deliver something you ask from the spirit specifically, a lingering sensation, a cloud of emotion forming within you that comes from seemingly 'nowhere', that feels like not yours, but you have it anyway.

They are delicately trying to reach out, and since your senses are not as awaken yet, you consciously have to seek and make sense of their attempts. I'd also suggest you to focus on your third eye (Ajna chakra). This'll be essential to open up new gates in communication. Stimulate, empower and work on it -naturally, do not neglect the others, but this chakra is very important if you want to connect in the most direct and clearest way-.

You're doing a great job, don't be afraid to follow your intuition. Spirits love communicating, guiding us through them.

I love that you had contact! Hell yes! Dont make the mistake of thinking it was less than contact. Sounds to me like during your meditation you slipped into hypnogogic state (magickal trance). And yes, that's the point in spirit contact, so good job!

In my experience, not all spirits come to talk. Some just let you know they are there. Some just check you out. Maybe just investigating before talking or communicating. You cant force it. Just let it happen the way it happens. That is the hardest thing for occultists to learn. Just let it be what it is without trying to control it, or force it. You could have all the skill in the world and if it wasnt there to communicate, wasnt going to communicate. It might not have had anything to do with your skill, or ability at all.

I find the spirits, whether demon, angel, deity, other will meet you where you are. That's actually awesome on their part when you think about it. Some will talk, others talk in ideas or long phrases, some communicate to me via download, like Raziel and Asteroth. Everyone is different in this as we all hold different frameworks and psyches, so grain of salt there will go a long way.

Do it again, if its important, it will come back. If its meant to communicate with you, it will. No need to panic, just sit in your own fear and realize fear is illusion. Also, keep in mind there are people who do rituals for months, read book after book before something like that even happens for them. Dont be so quick to banish. You survived and that is data.

Keep going. Be curious. Be willing. And for fuck sake, dont perform or posture. You were your authentic self during that meditation, that matters more than you think. Go accidentally do it again the exact same way. Then come tell us what happened, love hearing that stuff!!

Tarot can be an accurate tool for communication, but getting the accuracy you want is another story. If you want to use it for future communication, practice on your own time first and get used to the deck. For me, the best communication is still through currents. Their current, my current. Because it brings the chance of misunderstanding and misinterpretation down to zero. But there are a lot of ways they can communicate with you, so definitely keep an eye out for signs. Any signs, any sounds, anything from the corner of your eyes, etc.

There are two scenarios where you hear a language you don’t understand in dreams or meditation. It’s either your ability to sense them isn’t there yet so the words come through as jumbled mumble, or it’s a measure so the conversation can’t be understood.

If you’ve watched spy movies, you’ll see an agent using a small device near the phone to alter their voice, so the person on the line can’t tell who they are. This is similar to that in a sense. In your case, what you described falls into the latter scenario. It’s a measure to protect the conversation. You weren’t meant to hear what was being said, so it came through like a language you don’t know.

And since you already have the sense to sense the being, that’s the same skill as hearing them. So if that spirit comes around again, you shouldn’t have trouble hearing him if he initiates a conversation. You already have received communication from him, so don’t think to yourself that you can’t communicate. You got this!
