Do you listen to music while performing magic(k) or a ritual?

jimi hendrix bc he's a musical wizard 🎸
His music was too advanced as a beginner for me to work with.
It took decades for me to recover and reconnect with his music in that way.
Even then it was compelling circumstances that drew me to investigate the cultural manifestation of a link between magical children with a magical construct and CMBR.
Very inspirational and helped expand the way I viewed things and shape some of my views.
Things then really looked good for the MCU to be taking a more complex, structured and creative supernatural direction.
I wish Jac Schaeffer was more involved as she's able to bring the right talents together for things of this nature. Which segues to the next song.
A few versions to choose from. My favourite is Agatha through Time to use as intended.
That the show featuring a walk-in as a protagonist brought exquisite joy to me.

The song also shows the importance of musical composition in features. Especially when it's compared with another witch song from a different IP with a huge budget(that must've spent little on their song) from around the same time that was just hilarious.
Good for juxtaposition and used to invoke laughter
"The power of one. The power of two. The power of many."

Damn, that song is real piece of art. The girls are stunning singers.

I like to put some background music really low just to "forget" ambiant sounds.
Something with some human voice vocalising, nothing else, a little bit slowed down to 0.8 speed so I dont get caught by the song, this way It's always slightly alien enough so I dont think of the original music, otherwise it becames a distraction for me.

Not usually. I like music too much and would find it distracting.

I freestyle, using the music as my main guide. Then I clap, dance, chant, do some crazy moves, float with the current, whatever feels right in the moment.

Video game music can be great for having uniquely composed music with very strong and focused correspondences.

It depends on my mood. Sometimes I can listen to something esoteric played with the help of some stringed instruments, or I could just listen to this:

"The music presented on these 2 albums marks the consolidation of several years of musical & philosophical practice. Almost every piece was conceived during moments of intense stillness or 'magical vacuity'.
For this I acknowledge the influence of the late Austin Osman Spare, whose technique for creating 'automatic drawing' has found a sympathetic resonance in my own work.
Of all the music I have made, this is, perhaps, the most personal & yet the least demonstrative. Attempting nothing & existing purely for itself, it is, nevertheless, a practical music, ideally suited to the occultist in search of ritual atmosphere or serene meditation.
With such a purpose in mind I offer this work to my fellow initiates as a testament to the Gnosis & a confirmation of The World Within." - Bill Nelson 1987

Music is performative, so during a ritual lyrics and rhythms on some mainstream songs could be counterproductive.

Maybe if you ever try it you could find out and give an informed answer.

Don't get me wrong, I use music a lot in rituals, but more like traditional chants and instruments, so I can't fit modern mainstream songs into my framework. But if my timeframe is not tight and I have plenty of time to do a preliminary build up. I'd listen to some music without lyrics, something like Omar Faruk Tekbilek, otherwise my mind would be drifting away, I think I have some sort of synesthesia.
