Whatever you do, don't look up into the night sky in your dreams.
I made that mistake once and saw them. The ever changing and always curious. The old and ancient things, hiding within the endless void.
Now, no matter how my dreams start, I can feel them. Looking..
Signs of them keep appearing, reminding me of them. Even the people within my dreams whisper around me, warning me not to look.
The ocean is no longer safe either. Once it contained beauty, filled with mermaids and treasures. But now, now it is silent.
I have seen them and now they wont leave me alone.
So don't look up, for your own sake, DON'T LOOK UP!

(Though written dramatically for the sake of telling how I feel about it, it is true. Dreams are dreams, but still, it creeps me out every time.)

Things I have found in my dreams that keep reminding me that they are looking:
  • Books filled with pictures of them.
  • Old Temples with murals about them.
  • Figurines with stores and restaurants.

Sorry about ignoring your advice, but I think it pertains to you, yourself .

Thats your mind . The surface of The Great Sea is your consciousness , the depths; your unconscious . For me , mermaids rose from the depths and transformed into shining angels of guidance . Something has shifted ....

'' All delicate days and pleasant, all spirits and sorrows are cast
Far out with the foam of the present that sweeps to the surf of the past:
Where beyond the extreme sea-wall, and between the remote sea-gates,
Waste water washes, and tall ships founder, and deep death waits:
Where, mighty with deepening sides, clad about with the seas as with wings,
And impelled of invisible tides, and fulfilled of unspeakable things,
White-eyed and poisonous-finned, shark-toothed and serpentine-curled,
Rolls, under the whitening wind of the future, the wave of the world.
The depths stand naked in sunder behind it, the storms flee away;
In the hollow before it the thunder is taken and snared as a prey; ...

- Swinburne

There is even a patron ; Madonna Stella Maris - Star and Queen of the Sea and protector of all who sail upon her ;

I looked up ... and there she was !

They are calling to you . Dont fear , they are aspects of yourself that need attention ... like pain will make you aware of something that needs attention .

How do they look though? Do you know if there's a specific number of them?

So far there are 8 of them, I think. Each seems to rule their own domain. From fear, hate, pain and madness. To malice, lust, pride and that one I still don't know much about.

They are big enough to cover the night sky. Their forms are merging and morphing into themself and are hard to look at. They each give off their own feeling when you look at them (hence the domain theory). They don't look human but rather like something from out of space, like blackholes or nebulas mix with webs of strings or flesh. Their eyes are endless and are always moving around.

I've had certain inspirations about eight domains on the outer edge of the dream ("astral" as some call it) realm. I wouldn't think they'd manifest in such a horrid way, if this is indeed the same structure of eight that shows up on my maps.

Is your intention in putting up this post just as a 'warning' and nothing else ... or do you want to try to do something about your issue .

If its the first , I will depart and not open this thread again . If you want help with it , I can name your 8th unnamed 'foe' ;

It is either ; Annosognosia , Ego-Syntonic Avoidance or Ambitendency.

It's kind of difficult to properly banish something like that, at least I don't know a method I'd trust that would have them simply "leave you alone" - though maybe someone else here will help you find a powerful enough ritual. There is probably some kind of use you can have out of them, though. For resolving those types of problems related to dreams and more generally the unconscious mind I had excellent results with Jung's method of active imagination. Give them faces, voices or ambassadors to speak for them - I like to play those interactions out like court politics, but the exact form is really up to you. It's your mind and you have a degree of power to at least make things that invade it play by your rules.

First that, you need to engage with us and focus on the engagement , answer questions and interact , instead of just posting 'wows' ... they can mean any thing ( from this side of the screen ) .

Good method .... you know a lot of western magic rituals and 'logistics' comes from legal court practices ( with a few 'battle tactics' thrown in ) .

Eg ; Evocation ; The word "evocation" comes from the Latin evocatio, meaning "a calling forth" or "summoning away". In the ancient Roman Republic, this was a formal religious and military ritual conducted by generals outside the walls of a besieged enemy town .

I will. I was kind of waiting for your respond since you seems to know something within the dream/astral plain aspect:

Though Nembra's advice is pretty solid and is something I would differently try in a lucid dream if I can remember it.

Try that while you're awake. Depending on your temperament it might take a bit of practice, but it's ultimately way more effective and reliable.

I will. I was kind of waiting for your respond since you seems to know something within the dream/astral plain aspect:

I did respond . Did you look into anything I suggested yet ? Like in post 2 or 6 ?

or what nembra suggested ? It all has value . Look into it, look up terms , read about them ,

WE cant actually help you ... but we can help you to help yourself .
Though Nembra's advice is pretty solid and is something I would differently try in a lucid dream if I can remember it.

Look further into the source he suggested . Also there seems to be some confusion here between 'dreams' and 'astral realm' , they are similar in ways but also very different .

if it s disturbed dreams that trouble you .... ( and giving or taking medical advice on an internet forum is a NO NO ! ) I suggest you yourself look into a supplement ' Magnesium Glycinate ' and then decide yourself whether you take some or not

AI info ( as an introduction ... do proper research on it first , consult a doctor pharmacist or health professional !

1. Long-Term: It Reduces Anxiety-Driven Nightmares
If you suffer from high stress, your body produces excess cortisol (the stress hormone). This keeps your brain in a state of high arousal during the night, leading to fragmented sleep and intense, panic-induced nightmares. [

  • The Fix: Magnesium glycinate blocks stress pathways (NMDA receptors) and boosts GABA, a calming neurotransmitter.
  • The Result: By lowering nighttime anxiety, it removes the chemical "fuel" that creates terrifying, adrenaline-fueled nightmares. [

2. Short-Term: The "REM Rebound" Side Effect
When you first start taking it, your brain finally gets the deep, uninterrupted sleep it has been starved of. [

  • The Result: This sudden shift makes your dreams feel incredibly high-definition, strange, or intense for the first 1 to 2 weeks. It is not that you are having worse dreams; your brain is just processing subconscious thoughts more vividly because you are finally staying asleep long enough to experience a full dream cycle. [

The Bottom Line
Magnesium glycinate is a highly effective tool for long-term sleep peace. The initial "weird, vivid dreams" are usually just a temporary adjustment phase as your brain repairs its sleep patterns. Once your nervous system stabilizes, your dreams should level out into a much calmer, more restful experience

Oh ... and

GOOD LUCK .

Perhaps, if I give them the faces of saints or divine beings like Mother Marie (Madonna Stella Maris) then they won't be scary anymore.

Yeah, that... doesn't exactly seem like the most careful takeaway from this conversation.

Let the things speak for themselves. In fact, make them. Don't dress them up in disguises, though, a face is different from a mask. What I meant to say is find a way to establish a relation with them, in effect create a healthy form for them, not hide them behind something you can't believe them to be anyway.
