This Damon Brand guy sounds like a crook
While you have a point, it’s worth noting that the average person isn't seeking occult mastery. Even within fringe communities, only a small minority actually intends to practice magic. To monetize this niche, an author must construct a seductive narrative: the promise that enough books will lead to effortless mastery and the fulfillment of all desires. Damon Brandβ€”a mediocre writer but an expert marketer operating under various pseudonymsβ€”has mastered this by charging an 'admission fee' to enter the magical world. Most realize eventually that the 'quick wins' provided in the books are merely bait; true mastery requires a staggering investment of time and energy. Ultimately, these authors serve as the 'magical honey' that attracts a crowd toward an incredibly arduous lifelong discipline.
