[Help] Reading books

It's been few years I'm reading stuff , and I sometimes find my self wondering choose of my reading habit between
Reading lists I found over the internet
Or reading based on my own reading list

Is that really matter?
For example :
some books have requirement of reading other sources for better understanding or before going to next book or this thing does not exist at all! Lol
This can be confusing...
Any ideas?

It appears if you don't have a MacOS, you can download and install a torrent reader. I'm new to the macworld and don't have a lot of money, so not sure what tool to download and use that will help with that.
Other than that, you might have more luck than I, and it probably has a goldmine of info in it.
