Yup, no doubt the demon's favour would screw me over somehow eventually, but suffering would be more meaningful and bearable in service of a good cause vs just vanity, IMO

I think the scary part wouldn’t necessarily be that the favor is worse than Hell. It could just be something completely different. Like maybe he wants a small thing from you that sounds harmless, but has some really weird consequences.
Though, I’d be more curious about why a demon who can give me anything needs a small favor from me in the first place. That’s the part that would make me nervous.

The one favor is not toId what it is and so not knowing adds a layer that it couId end badly. In every agreement between a person and another every party has to be informed or eIse the other party can't reaIIy agree to it.

I might wish to go back in time or heIp a sick relative or something if I did agree to it. But I likely wouldn't since I wouId want it to be informed. Its aIso kind of annoying since them not telling you just adds a devious twist to it. That the favor is something so horribIe and then you have to react like "oh know this reaIIy was terribIe" but as I mentioned earlier peopIe have aIready imagined such terribIe fates that I don't know what couId top what peopIe have aIready imagined.

I think that’s what makes the favor more interesting.
It doesn’t even have to be something obviously horrible. It could be something totally normal that only becomes creepy once you find out what it actually means.
And I thinkk the fact that the demon chooses not to tell you is interesting too. / Like, if it actually wants you to agree, why hide the one part of the deal you’d probably want to know first?
Makes me feel like the fact that you don’t know is part of the whole thing..

Yeah, to me it forces you think about what you really value and what you'd do to have it at (potentially) any cost to yourself.
