Starting on the LHP?

I do not know much about the LHP but would like to learn more at the very least.

My concern is that I had a Christian upbringing and am wary of it as a whole if not downright fearful of certain aspects (or perceived aspects) so I have a couple of questions.

What are some good ways to "de-program" myself from being fearful of the LHP?

Where should I start if I want to learn more about the LHP specifically?

I believe it offers a good introduction to the subject, especially for a beginner who wants to get a general idea
