They exist. Just they aren't really 'gods'. Theyre egregores. Their capacities and powers are more limited than what people usually ascribe to them.

This is pretty much how I see it (except I might have a longer discussion about what "exists" means in this scenario )

While I take Crowley to task for many things, his advice here (below) is a pretty good place to stay even when you reach journeyman-level magician. After that your impossible things have been integrated and you won't go into spiritual psychosis... too much.

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree. If you don't want to strain your brain too much, take Crowley's very practical advice.

I also think some advice from the Principia Discordia might be useful :

GP: Is Eris true?
M2: Everything is true.
GP: Even false things?
M2: Even false things are true.
GP: How can that be?
M2: I don't know man, I didn't do it.

Oh! And if any more trad magicians think aliens are totally stupid and have no place in magic.... by some accounts perhaps one of the most powerful magicians of the 20th century might have been Ted Owens who got his powers (if I recall his praxis) by praying to the UFOs.
