Yeah, Mormonism as a belief system is crazy, but the culture of Mormonism is really good. I would agree with you, I actually like Mormon culture.

On a different note, have you guys ever heard of the Mormon Illuminati? It used to be a secret society within the very early Mormon Church. The Mormon Illuminati would spy on Mormons and kill those who didn't follow the rules or culture and so on.

Mormon Illuminati? What? Wow!!! I did not know that no. Interesting.

Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were Freemasons. Their priesthood initiation ritual and their endowment ritual are derived from Freemasonry. There are youtube videos that show those rituals. When asked why those rituals are Masonic, Smith said that both Mormonism and Freemasonry came from the rituals and priesthood of the Temple of Solomon but that over the centuries Freemasonry became corrupt and that God had given Smith the pure version. Before he died Smith gave the Grand Hailing sign of a Freemason as a way to get help to save his life, but none of the Masons came to his aid.

See, I knew Joseph was a Mason.

I've herard of the Danites. They were, I understand, the guys who whacked out the undesirables. Is that much correct? My sole source was this movie on TBS. "Avenging Angel" with Charlton Heston as Brigham Young and Tom Berenger as a repentant hit man. (He was kind of like a chad version of Leon, minus the jailbait apprentice.) Possibly not 100% historically accurate.

It all depends on who they consider undesirable. Also, them undesirables can shoot back. Still, yeah. Why can't Protestants have an Inquisition of their very own?

The more I learn, the more horrific it becomes. The cult survivors who come with stories of growing up inside and escape are truly traumatised from it and have experienced horrific abuse.
then the utter delusion of some of the theories to have the grip of reality to believe that Angel Moroni, or the golden plates or the book or Mormon made America the chosen land and the native Americans were invading the mormons (an invented new religion) land that resulted in massacres of their tribes.. just makes me sick to my core.. the more I learn the sicker I get
The sodomy rapes to children top the sickness coming out of Mormonism, turning Mormon boys into Mormon men to sodomites. (Not all but the ones who never leave allegedly). No experience with modern day Mormonism but i do like the theory that Joseph Smith was a ceremonial magician. I think John King did a decent interview on the topic. But yeah LDS probably mostly scam.
