What is the symbol of Ether?

I've seen it be represented as a 6-pointed star because the symbols for fire, water, earth, and air combines to make this symbol. I've also seen it be represented as some kind of wheel with an 8-pointed star in the middle of the circle.

The symbolic representations are usually dependent on what subject matter, whether alchemy, or magick, or astrology, or etc. Both of the above mentioned are legitimate in their relative area of use.
