[Help] Can entities contact you without prompting?

I may be paranoid right now. But for the past few days I think something has been trying to contact me. I ignored it originally because I thought I imagined it, but I noticed that it won't go away. I sort of notice that its usually stronger right after I do some type of magick.

I don't know what it is. I've asked what it was, but got no answer. I'm wondering whether it would be better to continue to ignore it or not.

How is it trying to contact you? A sense of "presence", odd happenings that seem linked to one another, or strange feelings?
Does it feel hostile, benevolent, or just curious?

My experience is that spiritual forces can manifest in many ways. Sometimes they come and go. They may be attracted by magical work for whatever reason, or you may just be becoming aware of "things" that were already there, albeit in a peripheral and subtle way. Usually, if it is a spirit with an identity, it have a signature of some sort, a way of cuing a person with vision to their presence or action.

Ignoring is a little like the old "Go stand in the corner and try not think of a white elephant" problem. Try not to feed fear into your particular problem, if you can avoid it. Just keep an open mind, take notes when necessary - especially if you get any insightful ideas that seem to be in relation to this "prompting".

And watch your dreams. That's your psychic mailbox.

Yes, its completely possible something/someone is trying to contact you. Though in this case, from what you've said, it sound more like something is already around you, and or interested in the magick you're doing. You asked what it was, and got no answer, so you're not exactly ignoring it either. As far as if you should pursue interaction with it or not, which it sounds like you are asking, i'd suggest divination for both options. I'd also suggest making very sure to keep up with your cleansings/banishings/protections.

Police, feds, and the IRS all show up in person when they want to talk. If they call you on the phone, it's a scam. When I want a credit card processing service, I will find one and call them. When they call me, I hang up.

If whatever contacts you isn't powerful or forthcoming enough to make a clear impression of what it is and what it has to say, you can be sure you aren't missing much by ignoring it.

I was thinking something along this, yeah. I didn't mention that I asked it what it was specifically while I was dreaming. This was when I could feel its presence the most intensely. And it still didn't answer me.

The presence was feminine, sexual and playful. At first I thought it was a human trying to contact me but now I'm not sure. I still can feel it when I'm awake. I don't want to entertain it if its harmful.

There was a guy here earlier this year who wrote a lot about succubi. You might try searching for that thread under the key word succubus. He had quite a bit of detail about such contacts and doings.

Yeah, the infamous @Shaman thread. For a time he wrote one episode of an astral soap opera after the other, how his succubus loved him dearly, opressed him, gave him painful dry orgasms, was fatally jealous of other supernatural entities, became pregnant by him and eventually bore him a demon son, and there the whole sorry saga ended because he got banned from the forum for abusive behaviour. I'm not one to believe in malicious parasite spirits lurking around every corner but in this case... he involuntarily confirmed all those ancient conflicting stories about succubi and dybbuks, and it was a pathetic spectacle to behold.

Mea culpa. I didn't follow the tales closely enough to smell the bats***. I just assumed he was hooked-up with his succubus and happy because with her around, he never had to lift a hand, as it were. I didn't know about his daemon spawn son and the responsibilities of fatherhood across dimensions.

Still, it is worth considering if OP might be being visited by a succubus.

William Bloom, he who did the Abramelin working in the 1970s worked out that we all have at least two spirits with us all the time, some people have more. The trick is to try and talk to them which might not be that simple. Often its just a sense or feeling you get after a question or statement. I find that writing works best for me. Whenever I start writing (like now) I suddenly have a mass of ideas in my head. It's fun as long as you realise they're just children. Don't just accept any ideas you get. Think about it. They soon change the way they play games to include you in their jokes. They're very helpful. For instance I was going to write "They soon stop playing games' and they said 'No, we don't stop playing games, but we change the way we play them to include you.'

I haven't banished it yet. Didn't make the effort to. It just keeps doing the same thing over and over. It feels like it wants me specifically. If I pay attention to it, it tries to lure me. If I don't pay attention I can still faintly feel it. No idea if its affecting my thoughts at all.

Maybe you'd want to learn the Sword Banishing Ritual from Damon Brand's "Magical Protection" (p. 17 - once activated, it's much shorter and faster than the LBRP), perform it and see if that entity's still around.

i had similar things start to happen years ago when my own personal veil started thinning and i was feeling all sorts of energies enter my field . . . . it was very confusing and sometimes scary . . . sometimes it was sexual and playful . . . sometimes otherwise . . . . . i wondered if it was a demon or a person or my own higher self energies . . . . through years of inquiry and practice ive come to understand that a lot of that stuff, for me, is connected to actual people who are thinking about me or connected to me in some way . . . there may be other entities attached to it and other stuff going on but i dont know about all that (Fear around that might skew the energies and even call in stuff you dont want) . . . . . i was able to verify on many occasions that it was a sort of human telepathy and a result of my own developing sensitivities . . . if it happens strongest around the times youre doing magick things . it could be a result of you Opening your energy field and allowing the sensitivities to flow . . . . .

right now, in general, it seems humanity is experiencing a huge Opening, Awakening, to all of these energies . . . more and more humans are experiencing telepathy and clairsentience and all those ways we feel The Field and each other . . . . . if youve asked the energy who/what it is and it doesnt answer . it might be a person who is not aware that you can feel her energy . . or doesnt want you to know she's thinking about you or reaching out to you . . . . if somebody specific comes to mind when you feel it . . perhaps find a way to verify that . . . . during the experimental phase in my life when this started happening, i would just straight up ask people, "have you been thinking about me?" . . the answer was pretty much always "yes"

Loneliness is a Fire that burns inside of you. You can have that fire even when in a relationship or with other people, it's seperate from your environment.

Magic is a toolset, but it all depends on the craftsman. Long sessions of sitting with yourself, no distractions, no activities, may be the remedy you need, no ritual or magic of any kind.

I don't believe such issues exist. There are many issues that a particular magickian can't fix at a given time with the magick they have. That dosen't mean it can't be done. It's just a matter of finding the right magick and developing yourself. If all else fails, learn to journey to Source and ask for the spell and or technique you need.

Maybe I should have said that I need to work on myself specifically. Yes, I know magick can help with myself. It's probably easier to actually make myself hot and charismatic than to try to draw a potential mate, with or without magick.

Yes they can. But why haven't you done more to identify this spirit? Are we not magicians/occultists? If you asked and didn't really get an answer you don't just throw in the towel and go "ah well, might as well let this foreign energy that I have zero idea on what it is just stick around". I would be doing everything in my power to figure out who and what this spirit is. It very well could be an ally but if so they would usually make themselves known and simply say so. But it could also be something malevolent and seeing to feed and/or harm. And it could also be a big pile of nothing. Just an amalgamation of built up energy from your magical workings and random emotions (more so if you have others in the home) that has achieved semi-consciousness. However, you won't know which of these it is until you identify the spirit.

Do a divination or two. Ask any patrons/matrons, psychopomps, familiars, or otherwise guiding spirits if they know who this entity is, and go from there.
