Maybe not quite to the extent that @L'chaimGoldberg feels, but I can see where they're coming from in terms of sentiment.
So you know what they were referring to 70 years ago in the quote below? What was it? Asking you since you claim to know where they're coming from and they didn't answer themselves when asked. It seems particularly specific to an event and may really help to clarify the essence of their sentiment.
Relevant quote:
Families in western countries have been under relentless assaults for over 70 years now and whole generations have grown up without both parents in the home.

Even evidence of someone being an occultist is hard to really pin down.
Not really. In regards to this topic, an occultist would look at the world they see as a reflection of themselves and would inform their opinion that way.

Are you planning to do so anytime soon?

I have, that is why I'm engaging with those that don't. Who only have been pointing their fingers at these "others".

Read my posts more carefully. Take a day or two to contemplate before replying and get back to me when you realize something about yourself in regards to this topic.

You keep talking about "they". You like the idea of you vs "them", right?

I would personally assume someone who understands the world as the reflection of themselves wouldn't need to engage.

I remember seeing that movie when it first came out and thinking, that’s not the future, that’s NOW! in 2026 it looks like a nostalgic movie about a better time, like watching andy griffith. Anyone who looks at the drooling child sniffer and the current clown in chief and doesn’t see President Mountain Dew is part of the movie.

This really sums it up
More than anything, I was taken by the notion that in the future you could buy a doctoral degree at Walmart. That and they didn't know you had to water plants to make them grow. (Kind of the state modern education is in.)

No, you're misreading. I just didn't want to list out those that I engaged with and used a general pronoun to refer to the group.

It's those I'm engaging with, that are pointing at a fabricated, generic "other" to moan about.
In terms of a reflection of myself, it's those in the thread doing that, as the reflection of myself, that should be engaged, not this "other" they're pointing at.

Anyways, as I said before if it's even possible for you to do it take some time read and contemplate and try to have a realization about yourself in regards to this topic before you assume again.

I have actually met a person OP was talking about. On the bus, yelling in the phone how shit and unenlightened my hometown is and that she needs to go home to cleanse her aura and calm down. But the truth is, she was older than me 😂

That's a good place to start to examine yourself in the situation in context of the topic, because your takeaways are very unflattering about your thought process.

Funny, I have been thinking the same this entire time. The world truly must be your reflection. Or your projection, whichever it may be.

What should be funny to you is that you ignored the example I gave of my reflection on the topic to say the above as a response.

And no, you weren't thinking that at all before I said it or you would have said it before me. So you're a liar and you're only saying that to continue avoiding your own contemplation about your own deficiencies that you see reflected in that person in your universe(in your head, in your head...). It would be beneficial to add why you have to lie about this subject to your contemplation.

Just adding this here because it echoes with the OP. Some interesting points.

Quick note. I'm not a fan of the gendered language here - but he is NOT setting up a gender-binary straw woman to attack our sisters, as I originally feared. Gendered mystical metaphors are always super fraught. I'm not a fan of Dianic Wicca for that reason, and dislike it when these ideas are used to make another anti-opposite-gender hate cult.

Also fraught is being against therapy-speak and the over-medicalization of modern culture - which can then be over-interpreted as being against therapy, which is not the point.

In my view this is just the type of thinking that occurs now. Neptune entered Aries on January 26, 2026, and I'm sure we'll start getting Kendo boot-camp in the park soon, and more 'masculinist' spiritualities soon enough, as everyone re-discovers their own Hero's Journey again. Neptune in Pisces was the end of a cycle and it was not "feminine" - it was a mess in the end. In 10 to 14 years we'll get sick of Neptune in Aries by that time too.

No u, by virtue of this
western countries that are, by every single measurable metric, gasping their last breaths as a civilization
being contracted by every reliable measured metric showing them among the top of human development, quality of life, in the world.
Unless by 'every single measurable metric' you're not referring to human development and such, but something like burkhas.

You still haven't answered what happened 70 years ago that you were referring to here that you're making a connection.
Families in western countries have been under relentless assaults for over 70 years now and whole generations have grown up without both parents in the home.

Interesting to note about the astrological timing, that’s something I’ll keep in the back of my mind as I observe things unfolding. 👍

I haven’t noticed a disparity of men vs women when it comes to the magic larping, though most of the women who fit the description by OP tend to be more along the lines of new age spiritual not religious types who get crystals and tarot cards and post about astrology.
But for what it’s worth I’ve met very few female practitioners in my life and travels, I can count them on one hand actually. It does seem like magic is more of a male dominated thing though I saw a YouTube video with doc Solomon saying that in a lot of their OTO chapters they have more females than males.
It would be interesting to see what the numbers are, regionally and worldwide.

An argument can me made that the cosmological view of classical Catholicism, as articulated by Thomas Aquinas, is nearly identical to Kashmir Shaivism (cultural language aside). For Aquinas, whom I loathed for many years, God is not a being among other beings, but Ipsum Esse Subsistens - the ground of Being itself, and nothing exists outside of Being.

Yeah, Ipsum Esse is cool. But the big problem with Christianity, the thing that prevents it from being a suitable vehicle for non-dual wisdom, is that it seeks to reserve a special place for Christ as somehow the unique incarnation of the divine. Of course, one can imagine a different Christianity that doesn't fall into this error. I know I often have - because Christ is good medicine for sure. And there are whispers of this possibility, such as in the gospel of John, when Christ prays of his disciples "may they be one, as you Father are in me and I in you." But the reality is that Christianity as a current, as it actually exists, and despite the fact that there have been a number of fully realized saints, is pretty hopelessly interwoven with dualist thought and language which imagines God as an external being. Even Aquinas, who in theory knows better, falls into this habit of thought at points.

Basically, there could be a non-dual Christianity, but it's not one that actually exists. And while non-dual wisdom does at points bubble up rather beautifully within Christianity, the religion is not structured in a way that consistently points to and leads to that wisdom.

You have, however, convinced to me check out Patrick Harpur. The question of what spirits have to do with spirituality is an interesting one that not many people explore, so I'm interested to see where he goes with that.

I very much appreciate talking with you, btw. I feel like I'm talking to a spiritual brother.

I have to agree with you about the depth of conversation with @MorganBlack , we often have different perspectives but you can tell that he’s got experiential reasons for them and he’s not abrasive about anything. There’s not very many goys inline who id really want to get to know in person but his one of them for sure 👍

“You jews” and “say niggers”
I’m not Jewish and I’m not discussing any black peoples per se. Feel free to just make any other assumptions that your feel bads dictate to you though, by all means.

I'm not sure whether that's one typo, or two. Lol.
If you think autocorrect is bad, try it with using multiple different languages 🤬

It’s also worth mentioning that my ring size is a 14 American ring size so you can imagine how typing on these postage stamp size phones works out

Honest question for the older folks here because something has been bothering me lately.

it feels like the definition of being awakened or spiritually aware has completely changed over the last few years. everywhere i look people are talking about high vibrations, ascending, and living in pure light. but when you actually talk to them their physical lives are a mess. they cannot hold down a normal job, they are terrified of leaving the house because they feel negative energy everywhere, and they cry if someone looks at them the wrong way at the grocery store. that is not an awakening. that is just a nervous system breakdown wrapped in fancy words.

where i come from we were taught the exact opposite. if your magic makes you weaker in the physical world you are doing it wrong. period. if you cannot handle a stressful conversation at work without panicking about bad vibes then your energy work is just a coping mechanism for unhealed trauma. if you cannot walk into a crowded room without feeling completely drained your wards are useless. true power is supposed to make you boring. it makes you grounded. it makes you quiet because you no longer react to every little thing.

but maybe i am just stuck in an old school mindset that does not apply anymore maybe the goal really is just to float around and feel good all day.

what do you guys think? am i being too harsh or has the spiritual community completely lost its teeth? how do you balance the unseen work with functioning like a normal adult in the real world?

What community are you talking about? Where is this community? Is it where you live in Java? Online? Have you traveled beyond Indonesia to meet occultists in other parts of the world, is that whom you're referring to? You talk about "the spiritual community" as if there is just one, and everyone in it has your values when obviously that's not the case.

As a solitary practitioner, even if I gloss over the question of exactly which community you think you're referring to, why should I care? How does it affect me and my practice, or my life in general, either way? It doesn't, so I could care less either way. I'm not trying to sound heartless, if someone asks me for help, I'll do what I can. But other than that, other occultists can do whatever they want and live their lives the way they see fit. They don't ask for or need my stamp of approval, or yours.

Kepler is right, you're just creating caricatures to try to justify your feelings of self-righteousness and proclaim superiority.

Utter horseshit. It reads like the kind of anti-Western Russian propaganda that Putin has been trying to brainwash Russians with for the last 26 years.

So why don't you go ahead and post worldwide data for some of those metrics? That way we can compare the West to other countries. Since you said 'every single measurable metric', it should be easy, right? How about GDP? That would be a good one to start with. Life expectancy would be another, as would health care, and education. Let's see the data.

No he isn't. He is a liked and respected member of WF.

No they aren't no they haven't. The very idea is idiotic because it pretends that divorcees never remarry.

If you want to claim that divorce rates in the West are higher than anywhere else, then again, post the data for divorce rates worldwide.

Who does that? I have never heard of anyone using magic for personal entertainment.
