Hello, I think what you are describing is the feeling that you get when you are 'deconstructing'. Your spiritual safety net is gone and you feel vulnerable. I was also hardcore Pentecostal for many years and just loved it, except for the church and everything else, lol. So trust me when I say I COMPLETELY understand this feeling. Your response was to go back to Jesus and I understand that. But Jesus has problems that will never be resolved so I did not want to do that for myself. My solution, which was damn scary at first, was to ground with the Earth. After I became comfortable with the Earth I later decided to trust my afterlife to Mother Earth. Is Mother Earth going to do you wrong? No way! You can ask her for allies that are NOT dodgy and she will help you, as a Mother would. Another option is to instead of thinking "Where will they send me when I die?" is to rather think 'Where have I decided that I want to go?" In other words, take charge of your afterlife and pursue the place you want to be. Yeah, I spent many years flowing in ALL the gifts of the HS. I get it. You tried 'Father God' already, see how Mother Earth is different. She is comforting in a way that that I never felt in church.
That's cool that you found connection to Mother Earth. Yeah true, Earth always holds you, was here when your born, supports you while you live, and receives you when you die.

I'm done with Christ in a devotional way just too triggering for me of religious trauma, even though its the people who claim to represent him's fault and not his, just can't separate it in my mind, and instead of spending a lifetime trying to undo the damage, i reckon finding another expression of the divine is wiser, don't got much time left on this earth tbh.
But I still keep a thread of connection with Christ as a last resort nuke-like banishing (i tend to go to far with spirits at times and get hauntings or parasites... recently a death spirit that was actively fatiguing my wife and I and scaring our cats and giving us thoughts of wanting to die... but prayed to Christ, channeled Holy Spirit via tongues, and BOOM! Felt something leave the skull I anchored the spirit in and heard cats screaming outside as it happened. The house went back to its peaceful state once again).

Anyway... I was intrigued how you left the Christian gods and found your way in Mother Earth and wanted to relate with what you said... and share that I've decided to ditch Christianity altogether and explore the Tao.

To practice esoteric Christianity you do not need to be a member of the church, however it is helpful to have a few like minded individuals in which you discuss the matters of belief and congregate with a group that will help keep you accountable. For instance Rudolph Steiner mentions self initiation into Rosicrucianism, although not ideal it just sometimes isn’t practice or possible to get initiated in the more traditional way, online sources and communities are helpful but to practice Christianity in a way to better yourself, become closer to Christ and to dive into the more occult and esoteric teachings many modern or orthodox churches are more of a hinderance to these goals as you hear the pastors understanding which to be quite frank is usually pretty rudimentary, not necessarily his fault but how some of them are trained.
Part of Christ's nature is to be the head of the Church. The only thing that Christianity can ever be is to incarnate God's Bride, also known as Queen of Heaven or, notably, Mother Church. If what you are practicing is Christianity then you are by definition a member of the Church, and this is a very minimal, pessimistic clause, since Eve, the archetype of all humanity is reborn in the Mother Church.

I'm not going to add much but this: I have found tongues VERY useful in magic. I have been on astral journeys and spoken in tongues in other realms to great effect. Your Spirit is directly speaking to Spirit in the Spirit realms. I feel that if your heart is good then tongues are a more powerful gift than most people could ever dream or realize.

I guess if I have to be really honest I'm a Christian, but a vicious heretic of one. Ah, the atheist upbringing -> Christianity -> apostasy -> chaos magic -> "I guess if I can be Christian some of the time that sorta means I'm always Christian regardless, no?" pipeline...

Anyway, I'm not subjecting myself to church oversight, and have my own channels.

Ethnically German Jewish/Occitan. Raised Catholic because where I grew up, if you were born you had to get registered, either Lutheran or Catholic, and as luck would have it, the Catholic church was closer. Went through eight years of parochial school, four years of Jesuit University with a major in theology, eight years of graduate work in Interfaith studies at various Catholic and Protestant seminaries; fast-tracked to the Vatican, shit-canned by Cardinal Ratzinger, became a Benedictine oblate, posthumously ordained in Process New Thought, affiliated with the United Church of Christ. Problem was...I was never religious. Neoplatonism was baked into my bones. Belief had nothing to do with it, if you define belief as either creed or conscious conviction. For me Neoplatonism was upstream of Faith, downstream of Chaos as an organizing principle.

Basically, what I'm saying is that magick fits to religion like poetry fits to language. I never didn't practice magick in one form or another. I was always an iconoclast. I brought Vedanta to the Catholics, Kabbalah to the Baptists, Calvin to the Unitarians, and silence to my spiritual roots in the Faith of those who called themselves Christian in order to survive the Shoah.

In other words, as I see it, magick is not contrary to religion at all. It is faith itself and that has squat all to do with this spiritual category or that, or with any belief or technique or devotional object and everything to do with how you move through life, and what you bring to that movement by virtue of being alive.

Are you posting to this forum from the afterlife?
Well, sorta. I got ordained by proxy because on that very day and to the hour I flatlined in the very hospital where I had wanted to work. I took that as a cosmic joke at my expense. I never got over it either. LOL
