I think if you listen to the quote from the book in the video linked above and think that is similar to the text of the Song of Songs you are not serious.

Possible. Cannot tell, my browser doesn't load the video.

Comparing a book that teaches morals to a book that describes the pleasures of gay anal sex is a great point.
LMFAO to 'teaching morals'... wow. Somebody thinks fake morals and ethics taught by men claiming it comes from a misogynistic Sky Santa are somehow ok, after thousands of years of murder and mayhem done in the name of that exact horrible book. Millions of deaths. Slavery. This is the way... sure. But it somehow is better than books describing sexual encounters? The Inquisition is suddenly morals and ethics? Forcing religions on people with the threat of death is so moral and ethical. All these priests molesting children, so moral and ethical.

I thought the topic of this thread was books that were being banned (but in reality are simply being withheld from young children)
But it seems neither one of you bothered to listen to the quotes. Just be angry at those mean Christians..

Other critics say the bill would create barriers for students in schools that don’t have libraries or have limited book collections. Five of the Des Moines School District’s schools do not have libraries and about 12,000 middle and high school students use their school ID cards at Des Moines Public Libraries

My part was about the false assumption that these same people, who are making the bans, are mostly White Christian Nationalists who thump children on the head with that horrible book, and brainwash them using this book full of hatred and division, incest, murder, genocide and more, with threats and usually fear of hell. This is the ultimate of the pot calling the kettle black. Some of these same folks are slowly being arrested for child porn, incest, rape, murder, abuse and more. There is a huge failure in what they think they stand for, and most of them are horrible and abusive parents that should be in jail.

The point is actually;
There is nothing wrong with making certain books age-appropriate only, and putting them in a section that you can't enter. And you can't even check them out unless you are old enough.
There is also nothing wrong with making parents responsible for parenting, and not forcing the rest of the public to face banned printed materials because of your own bad parenting or bad management of a library. Banning books is plain and simple NAZI FASCIST BS.

In addition, creating any law because of your own religion should make that religion banned in the USA, because we separate church and State here, for a reason. We can't let one cult or the other try to create bans and laws based on some hate and division cult idea. We are not an oppressed Nation that belongs to any Abrahamic cult, and we will fight back when people try to introduce that sick idea.
Aren't the current riots in Abrahamic cult countries enough for people to see what happens when you lead with religious zealots?
If you let them ban things now, they won't stop until they control the media and free speech. It is that, and not the whining baby, poor me, Christian issues, where they think they need special protections so they can continue to force this sick and twisted agenda of hate and division on the rest of the planet, while calling it love thy neighbor.

The idea of these books falling in the hands of children is plainly a supervision problem, which is a library or parent problem, and not something that should ever lead to banning books of any kind. Anything leading to a ban needs to be fought immediately, with extreme prejudice.
And, if we are banning books, let's start with the Bible, the Koran, and any other book that has caused so much war and death, and stop worrying about sexual items that children got from the Internet long before any library visit.

And that is the same as banning books?

Well, we agree then.

Still a far cry from the current banning that has been going on. Controlling the media is still an issue, and so is banning printed materials. The approach to fixing the issue is the issue. The people in charge are a huge issue.

Guess that you are right.

...hehehe, do they realize that kids have access to the internet way sooner than access to the library?

In Russia, the authorities have also begun to persecute occultists. Advertising of Tarot reading is prohibited as "damaging to the mental health of the population." One witch received two years in prison "for insulting the feelings of believers" in her books. All references to Satanism are prohibited, as the Russian State Duma has invented the "international extremist Satanist movement." Satanists in modern Russia are equated with ISIS terrorists. In general, we all live in a fun time, my friends. Let's hold on to each other and help each other. Let's win together!

" The three little witches" A children's book was banned from public school libraries in my home state years ago. We had a copy at home.

"Zoe, Zara, and Ziggy have a series of adventures while arranging a midnight Halloween party, featuring acro-bats, beetleburgers, and a few surprises, for all of their friends in the Magic Wood"

If I recall, it is discussed in Diary of a Devilworshipper Vol 4, how sexual repression by religion is not an arbitrary moral reflex, it is a tactic designed to create killers who will serve in the armies of the Magi, as soldiers whose frustration and anger comes out on the battlefield in extreme cruelty and ferocity to strike fear into the opposing enemy, which increases the reputation of terror of the Magi by its enemies and thus engenders more likely capitulation to their insane schemas. It's a very old game. Thus, you see in society hyper-reaction to sexuality that acts through repression and engineered moral outrage, while the sanction and worship of ultra-violence is vaunted as sacred. Even so, media infantilises the masses through refusing to show graphic scenes of either. If they did, many might not be so complacent or neurotic.

It is an ancient practice mired in power and control exhibiting itself as hypocrisy but intended as a stratagem to mould masses. For instance, in Australia it is illegal for women to bare their chest and show their breasts - unless - it is for an art exhibition, permitted protest, or for breast-feeding. Yet, any man, of any age can bare his chest when and wherever he so chooses. Feminism long recognizes these torturous inconsistencies for what they are;- Tyranny.

It is important for people to understand such social (moral) movements as 'weaponisations' against people.
