My question is mainly used for women, but I guess that men can answer as well no problem. Do you think that menstrual blood is usable? Does it has any use in magic?

My answer is no. In my opinion it's a waste that body ejects like a shit or piss, and it's just as dirty. It comes out completely without will of the woman that bleeds. I assume that it ruins the ability of that blood to be vesel for the will of the person using it, especially if it is the woman herself. Opening your skin to draw blood, causing the pain intentionally in order to gain it... I think it's quite different.

Thoughts?

I'm a man, but i have read somewhere that the main problem with it is that it's charged with sexual energy, as opposed to blood you draw out yourself, and that it can interfer or make some rituals more dangerous.

I remember reading about this in some books and somebody mentioned it in a podcast. It is used for love magic, when the woman wants to seduce a man, gain control over him, she mixes it with something, drinks or food 😐. Supposedly very effective. The man becomes a slave more or less, gaining control over him.

I can not remember where I read it exactly (maybe I thought it up myself) but I thought it was used as "anti-witchcraft". In doing an etymology of the Angel Sophiel I wrote this:
Sophiel – spelled as SVPIAL obviously coming from the Greek Sophia for Wisdom SVP is an unrelated word that translates as to cut off / snatch away / to destroy SVPR is writer / scribe But spelled with a Shin ShVP translates to smoothening / anointing ShVPI is ease / comfort / “the area above the leg” and is used to describe the (relatively) painless flow of blood (during menstruation) as well there is a link to the word ShPH (rim / border / lips – of the vagina – / to crush / to humble) All of this seems to refer to the Magickal powers ascribed to menstrual blood Sophiel therefore is a powerful Angelic Name that is linked in many ways with the Moon and Lunar wisdom the corrected spelling of ShVPHIAL gives 432 = 9

Did you know that menstruation blood contains stem cells?

I guess I am one of first woman who replies? I worked in women teams for years and we talked about that blood. For a lot of women the blood is actually linked to fertility. Without the monthly bleedings the uterus is not very functional. A fertile woman bleeds, that is how it is. It is our monthly offering for being fertile.

For me, it is no dirt at all. It can be highly magic. Some witches call period blood the blood of the moon. (google on red moon cycle or white moon cycle) .......You can collect this blood in a quite clean way in a diva cup, and then it is bright red clear blood on the days you have a good flow. Without any cloths or dirty things. It is even life and kicking, full of energy! If you have to feed magic of things that needs grow or needs to speed up a little bit, it works. (yes, been there, done that) .....I even talked to women who did taste that red bright living blood. From them I know that it was tasteful like good meat, but I never felt trying myself.

In the later days of the menstruation the blood becomes old, rusty brown, mixed with cloths and other cells and stinking. It is already dead. Good enough for a curse.

And then this:

24. The best blood is of the moon, monthly: then the fresh blood of a child, or dropping from the host of heaven: then of enemies; then of the priest or of the worshippers: last of some beast, no matter what." ~Liber AL, Chapter III

Something to read: "of blood and bones, Kate Freuler"

So you successfully use it?

Why so harsh Morell 🥲

The best blood is of the moon

That also was my perception of it, I would intuitively connect it to the renewal of the life giving cycles.
Many cultures celebrated the transition from childhood into adulthood with large festivities,
as the woman now had the life giving powers associated with the mother goddess.

Different cultures and tribes attributed it with powers, many used it in the preparation of brews and tinctures - the Cherokee tribe said it could even be used to defeat enemies. I guess it acquired a 'dark tint' through the many fringe uses in darker magick, like for instance the Chinese used menstrual blood of virgins to create an elixir of youth 'red lead' that resulted in quiet abusive practices.

Also the association with magick to create dependence is true and is part of the bad reputation.
I kind of witnessed it myself, as i had a quiet abusive succubitch ex that made the men before me all consume her menstrual blood,
she was the personification of a man eater. Somehow she 'kept in touch' with quiet some of em',
be it their weak character or the consumption of her blood, or her relationship with Agares who makes it hard for 'enemies to flee',
who knows in the end.

I would say it is at least symbolically on the same page as the potential semen symbolizes - so it's useful in a variety of ways.
In tantric belief it's one of the 5 pure and eternal substances - so menstrual blood, semen, ghee, ash and 'wife's nectar'.
Even in western alchemy it was believed that menstrual blood could be prepared in a way that restores youth and gives wisdom.
Flamel, Dee and Kelly experimented with it for their philosophers stone endeavors.

I'm not sure if the women it comes from has to be wise too for it to work. 😜

The stem cells part is also very interesting, as it objectively could be 'healthy to consume'. It also has all kinds of minerals, and macro-nutrients - just like semen has all the good stuff in it to create the base for life to grow. I guess it also depends on the health of the woman it comes from of course, and maybe also the immune system of the consumer, just like raw food upsets many belly's.

Anyways, the connection to transformation, life giving principles and the themes of the mother or goddess makes it an overall powerful substance in my book.

Yes! Completely possible, but as said: different days in the menstruation gives different flow, so the blood is different. The bright red blood works primarily as an accelerator for other magic. I never have used it as a standalone, perhaps others have experiences with that.

When used for a curse I used in combination with asafoetida (Devils dung), rusty iron nails, broken needles, vinegar, 1 belladonna flower and Buth Jolokia Pepper.

Not really. If they come from your body, then it might have effect in your mouth, but they would be melted in your stomach. If they are not yours, your body might refuse them even in your mouth, if you are wounded there or something. And eating blood in general is bad idea.

Hmm could very well be the emphasis on the term 'moon blood' is tied to a period that takes place at a full moon or new moon, making it more potent or 'extra useful'?

That's also true, I guess it makes way more sense to approach this symbolically or connect it to rituals and meaning.
The alchemist or medicinal stem cell approach of preparing and extracting it properly should be the proper way to make it useful physically.

I certainly trust you on the topic of blood!
